It’s my favorite restaurant in the state, been here twice, and can’t wait to return. Everything is excellent, would give 6 stars if possible!

Excellent service, cocktails, and food! It's great to see a restaurant executing classical dishes so well.
I am always surprised to see people dress so casually at a nice restaurant, and have kitchen appreciation chargers. But that's just where we're at in Asheville.
The quality of the food is unmatched. Service is even better. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. The small interior felt intimate yet extremely friendly.

Enjoyed our anniversary dinner at this lovely restaurant in the River Arts District. The service was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Made suggestions for sharing and sizes of plates. We were able to enjoy several dishes without being stuffed.
We started with marinated olives that were bright with spices and orange peel. The burrata had fresh blueberries, crushed pistachios and olive oil. It was creamy, a little spicy, sweet and crunchy! Loved it.
We shared NC tile fish with stewed heirloom tomato & romano bean, tarragon, caperberry, fresh tomato, olive oil. The flavor and cook on the fish was phenomenal. We also had a charred eggplant dish that accompanied it perfectly. It was served on a bed of Spanish aioli, gremolata and a picada that was garlicky and crunchy from the nut mixture.
We finished with a blackberry tart that was just perfect for sharing a sweet bite.
Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Asheville.

My wife and I have been to Vivian's 4-5 times over the years, and prior to opening this restaurant, we used to patronize their food truck, 'Salt and Smoke' at Burial Brewing; so we feel a sense of kinship and history with the group.
What they are offering in 2024 is very good, but mixed.
The chef is skilled and creative. The menu offers numerous interesting and original small plates (many) and entrees (few). Every time that we dine at Vivian's we feel a few of the dishes are excellent and there are usually one or two which are just OK. Last night, the two tile fish dishes were superb, whereas the eggplant was under-cooked and on the rubbery side.
The staff is lively, kind and knowledgeable, but they are stretched pretty thin; so some patience will be required — our three course dinner for two took two hours from arrival to check.
The dining room is stylish and minimal, sporting some of the best looking sound-dampening panels that we've ever seen. But the acoustics are still cacophonous because given the (mostly) concrete and stone surfaces, their are only 1/2 the required panels on the ceiling and 1/4 the necessary panels on the walls.
Like the food and the service, this short-coming is >>not a deal-breaker,<< but a few clicks shy of a dining experience which leaves you so bliss-ed out when the check arrives that you don't care how much it cost.

My partner and I were celebrating an anniversary here the other night. Ordered: deviled eggs, Honeydew non alcoholic drink, the steak and the NC flounder entree dishes.
The deviled eggs if you like them with pickles/relish, were amazing! Flavorful.
Honeydew drink was refreshing with notes of cucumber and not overly sweet but at $8, I ultimately felt like I should've just went with a cocktail.
My flounder was very interesting, with a tahini and nutty profile but a bit under salted. I kept waiting for the flavor to develop more with the oil sauce but it just didn't happen. It was a light dish and the fish was perfectly cooked. I didn't understand what the pita or roti on the side was for if the dish itself isn't particularly saucy.
The steak dinner my partner had at $58 was so underwhelming. It was cooked unevenly, from rare to well, and had a heavy char on it which was nice on the fat but not on the entire steak. The small scoop of mashed potatoes it came with were very bland, but maybe the rich reduction sauce that covered the steak was supposed to provide the flavor? We ended up taking half of it home because the price was so high and we didn't want to waste it.
Jordan, our server was fantastic though and everyone was friendly. Maybe just an off night but we'll probably not visit again.

Brunch as always was fantastic and so was the service. Ceran was a great server. The burrata appetizer was incredible. Our whole party was a little disappointed in the fried potatoes. I would recommend a variety of sides.

Outstanding! This is our 3rd time at Vivian’s and we have been impressed every time. Consistently exceptional drinks, food and service - truly the whole experience is always stellar! The blueberry tart with sweet corn ice cream was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!!

Nice place, with a really great ribeye! Kind of a minimalist atmosphere, in the river arts district. We really enjoyed the beef tartare and some of the other appetizers. The Salmon Ceviche was excellent. Would recommend!

We absolutely love Vivian’s for dinner and recently had our first brunch experience here—it was amazing! The food is consistently outstanding, with each dish prepared to perfection. From the savory brunch options to the delectable dinner entrees, every bite is a delight. The dining adventure was made truly special by Aubrey. Her infectious smile and charm added the perfect touch to our brunch. If you haven’t yet, check out Vivian’s for both brunch and dinner. You won’t be disappointed!
