I am one of the organizers for a monthly network gathering group. We chose to go to DSSOLVR and VOWL for our event this month. We had approximately 200 folks there this past Tuesday (January 14, 2024). The staff nailed it at both bars. Serving 200 people at one time can be a challenge... the staff did not disappoint. It was an extremely welcoming evening from the start to the finish. The owners and management were awesome to work with and delivered everything that they promised and more. They provided a DJ for us (DJ Abu Dissarray), which made the evening even that much more fun. Many of the event-goers had not been to either of these bars, but I heard from many folks that they planned on going back due to the friendliness of the staff and the treatment that we received. A big THANK YOU to both DSSOLVR and VOWL. Your new friends at TakeOverTuesday (instagram: TakeOverTuesdaysAVL)

One of my favorite places to frequent, it has such a great atmosphere, and such a great variety of brewskis. Staff are so friendly. Definitely a staple in downtown Asheville. 💯

This is definitely one of the best meals I've ever had. I've lived in Asheville for 14 years and this was my first time having Korean. I'll be going again for sure.

Excellent addition to Lexington! Very interesting vibe inside, fitting of DSSLVR’s aesthetic. The cocktail menu is playful and creative and they’ve managed to bring on some of Asheville’s most talented bartenders to bring these drinks to life. It’s a perfect stop to grab a special drink after dinner or before a show at Static Age.

Vegetarian options: It’s a cocktail bar sooooo…you’re good to go!

Parking: There is a paid lot next door and also at the end of the block in front of static age. There is also free street parking if you’re extremely lucky.

Kid-friendliness: It’s a cocktail bar so maybe not the best place for kids. There are however some pinball machines next door at DSSLVR but the kids will be competing for play time with drunken 30-somethings

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and there is a ramp at the entrance for wheelchairs

I want to gatekeep this place so badly, but I can't! It's a hidden gem. The bartender who helped me was fantastic, and the vibe is immaculate.

I’ve lived in Asheville for over two decades and I can confidently say that VOWL is a great addition to the downtown bar scene and is already one of my favorite places to get a great cocktail on a night out. The bartenders are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and super skilled at their craft. Zane, Zooey, and Freddy made my experience memorable and I can’t say enough good things about them. Come try some of their specialty drinks! You won’t be disappointed ?

Absolutely amazing experience at Vowl Asheville! This bar has quickly become my favorite spot in the city. The atmosphere is perfect – chic and edgy, a perfect blend of modern decor and contemporary art. So many cool plants, it’s such a vibe. The drinks are superb, crafted by talented bartenders who clearly know their stuff. I was particularly impressed by their nitro espresso martini - innovative and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a great place to unwind with friends or enjoy a date night, Vowl Asheville is the place to be. Highly recommended!

First time ever eating Korean food, not sure how genuine it is or isn't, but friends invited us and we went with the group, and I really enjoyed my grilled chicken dish,it was spicy hot for me,the veggies and sauce were very tasty along with the rice served on a sizzling stone plate.Service was fast and friendly explaining the menu to us.

It is unusual to find authentic "Dolsot Bibimbap" (called Bulgogi Stone Bowl). This is the place. The hot stone bowl causes a crispness in the rice if you let it just cook a few more minutes at the table. It is served with korean side dishes that were excellent. Maybe I was just hungry to get something I hadn't had in years, but I would definitely go back again. Mix it up and add the mild Gochujang sauce and you are all set to enjoy.

Made a reservation and we were seated right away. Ordered a bunch of appetizers and edamame for the kids. Food came almost immediately along with drinks place was filled up soon after we sat down. Everybody enjoyed the appetizers and then the meals came. Food was excellent as well as the service. I’ll be going back there again soon.

The galbi or Kalbi if you're not Korean was way overpriced. I'm used to the short ribs cut in an English style Will you see the multiple small bones. This particular dish they had two large bones with me and I felt it was a little overpriced for what you got. I make better Kalbi. My girlfriend said the fried squid was pretty good but I don't eat that. We next shared at least the English version would be chop chey. It was a little underwhelming. They didn't use enough sesame oil to really bring out the flavor. The kimchi side dishes were pretty good, and when I asked for more and I pointed to all five dishes the only bought me an additional dish of cabbage kimchi. I thought that was a little on the chincy side.
