TLDR: Karen Killed the Vibe
This used to be one of my favorite spots in Asheville — sadly, not anymore.
We shifted an outdoor table a few feet to catch some sun (not blocking anything), since it was getting cold and there were no heaters on. Maybe they were cutting costs — it was pretty slow. The manager stormed out and yelled, “Absolutely not!!! Do not move MY furniture!!”
That was our only interaction with him... until he went back inside and started gossiping about us to the staff, literally pointing at us like a middle schooler. So awkward.
His reaction was totally uncalled for, rude, unprofessional, and just plain weird.
The beer, pizza, and that chicken sandwich? Still great. But after that kind of treatment, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If that’s how they treat someone who’s been in 25–30 times… I've literally had a birthday party here! Just imagine how they’d treat a you?
The “Karen” manager killed the vibe.
UPDATE: Thank you for your reply. Sadly, your attitude and poor communication skills — both then and now — are exactly what ruined this place for me and others.
You said, “There was no pointing at you or yelling.” I have to disagree. The only words out of your mouth were, “Absolutely not!!! Do not move MY furniture!!” — shouted, not spoken.
This whole situation could’ve played out very differently with just a little basic kindness. Something as simple as, “Sorry, but please don’t move the table,” or “Hey, we have other seating available. Would you mind using that instead?” would’ve made all the difference.
An outside picnic table was in the shade and we had some folks in our group lift and shift it a few feet for it to be half-shade and half-sun (and into a completely empty area, not at all blocking any walkways) to accommodate our group preferences. The manager rushed out and yelled at us: “Absolutely not!!! Do not move MY furniture!!”
It could have been very easily communicated with kindness. We’ve lived in Asheville for years and this was incredibly rude and off putting. This isn’t what we’re about?? The beer and pizza are all great—I wouldn’t recommend entirely based on this experience.
Great beer, food and service. The staff is clearly passionate about what they do .
Honestly the best food we had in Asheville - we went here twice during our trip! The burger, chicken sandwich, and pizza were all great. Would highly recommend this place.
Great service! All staff that we came in contact with were friendly and seemed to really care about their roles, including the cook, who told us all about the pizza oven. The beer is good also! Highly recommend!
I was with a group of people and ordered a cheese pizza which came dripping -literally dripping --with grease. I ate one small slice and was really turned off. I took the rest home but I couldn't sop up enough grease to make it palatable so I returned the pizza the next day and asked for a refund. Their standard line is "I don't have the authority to issue your refund." So I've left messages there several times and the final one was with Eddie who supposedly is the only person who has the authority to refund your money. This pizza was $20 plus tip plus tax
I never got a phone call back or text or anything, and, of course, no credit to my credit card. I returned my receipt with the pizza. I respect the fact that any restaurant can make a mistake. The quality of the restaurant and its leadership is how they respond to a complaint. All restaurants have complaints --good restaurants address those complaints promptly and properly. this restaurant failed miserably in customer service and customer care.
Fantastic Experience at White Labs Brewery!
White Labs Brewery is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates great food, craft beer, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We had the pleasure of enjoying two of their wood-fired pizzas, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The crust was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of char, and the toppings were fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully paired. Each bite was a delight!
The brewery itself is a wonderful blend of laid-back vibes and a deep passion for brewing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, offering excellent beer recommendations that perfectly complemented our pizzas. The beers were top-notch, showcasing the creativity and expertise that White Labs is known for.
What really stood out was the attention to detail in everything they do—from the food to the brews to the service. It’s clear that White Labs Brewery takes pride in providing an exceptional experience, and they absolutely delivered.
Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast, a foodie, or just looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy some delicious wood-fired pizza, White Labs Brewery is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return!
Excellent!!
Nice place, interesting with the lab right on site. Lots of beers but no Ipas this trip. Server said they expected several new beers on in the next few days. Can't do a 5 because I oppose counter service and we didn't eat this time.
Great pizza and the service was quick. The hostess and staff was helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back to try other menu items.

One of the few 5 star places I’ve been to. Customer service right through the door was amazing, I got the spicy hog pizza and it was top 5 pizzas I’ve ever had, and the beer selection was very abundant and delicious. If I came back to Asheville, I would 100% come again!
Be aware if you order their brunch bloody mary... the server asked "is Tito's okay?" as if that's what it comes with, so I said sure. Looking at the bill after, turns out Tito's is the upgrade and it was a $3 extra charge. This was not disclosed at the time of order, in fact it was purposefully phrased otherwise. Outside of that, we had a good experience and food and drinks were excellent.
Update: Thank you White Labs for responding and addressing the issue.
Our recent visit to White Labs Brewing Co was an exceptional experience. The food was delicious, starting with the hummus that had a delightful smoky, peppery taste that was topped with crunchy chickpeas and a side of flatbread. The burger was incredibly moist and flavorful, exceeding our expectations.
Our son thoroughly enjoyed his beer sampler, appreciating the variety and quality. I particularly enjoyed the fresh ginger beer, which was refreshingly crisp.
The atmosphere at White Labs Brewing Co was fun and friendly, making for a memorable outing. We highly recommend this brewery to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and a welcoming environment.
Great beer, service, space, and kimchi!
I had been here for an event before, but returned for dinner last night. While we have plenty of pizza places in Asheville, this one certainly stands out. Their dough is beyond incredible, and probably some of the best in and around the city. The space is beautiful and well crafted.
I love that they do little “experiments” in their kitchen lab and utilize the yeast from the beer to make the pizza. I saw awhile back they had pizza making classes, but I haven’t seen those lately. Was very curious to try.
Even though they are more in the traditional city setting, they have parking and outdoor space. A nice little front and back patio with lights.
Their beer is great but a little happy for my case. I do appreciate they also have wine. I believe they have a bar actually if you’re interested.
Last night we got Caesar salads which were quite pricey when you added protein. And the only options were fried or grilled chicken.. Very fresh and homemade, but I would just stick to the pizza- it’s their thing.
Super nice service. Very clean facility. Excellent for parties of two or larger.
