Had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Lora was top notch and brought milk out upon seeing my daughter grabbing cereal. Hashbrown casserole was amazing and I was impressed with what was offered on the buffet (lox and all the fixing).Yes, there are many spots to eat in Asheville, but Renaissance caters to a lot of groups that do not have time to go to breakfast outside the hotel in the mornings. Also, I enjoyed breakfast as part of my Marriott Status.

Why would ANYONE choose to eat here?! On a 1-10 scale, the food is a 2. You are visiting a city renowned for its incredible food, most restaurants being a 7-10 in deliciousness and creativity, locally sourced and seasonal! Get out of the hotel and eat at one of the 100 incredible options within walking distance and have a truly great meal! Even the free breakfast is gross… it’s better to go and pay elsewhere. You only eat here if you are trapped by a blizzard or held captive by Godzilla…and haven’t eaten for days.2 stars because the servers are very nice.

I went on a breakfast voucher. I was counting on them opening at 630am ready to go, but unfortunately only had a partial breakfast by 645am. The food was good though, and the staff friendly. They just need to be ready to operate at the hours they promise.

Worst restaurant food ever. Been here 3 times and it only gets worse. Food prepared days in advance, cold and restaurant always empty. ??? You should expect more from this hotel.

Pretzel bites were addictive. Lauren was a phenomenal server, quite attentive. The eggplant was crispy, and the sliders made my kiddo happy. Had a Thomas Wolfe drink sent from the bar, and enjoyed it. So convenient and tasty while staying at the hotel.

The Writer's Bistro is the restaurant located in the Renaissance Hotel. I just ate there for breakfast as Marriott Elite receive a voucher to eat here. The breakfast buffet is $19 otherwise.Service was friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I sat in the back room both times during this stay. Both days have more people working than people dining. The breakfast buffet has a variety of items. Although these were not restocked on my second day so they were out of some items. The food quality was not any better than what I had at the Fairfield Inn. Although I did like the fresh fruit so both days I ate mostly strawberries and blueberries. I remember the breakfast being better when I stayed here in the past so they may have had to cut expenses. I wish they offered ordering from a menu instead of the buffet.

We were exhausted from eleven hours of traveling and decided to just eat at the hotel. We did not expect it to be absolutely delicious. The staff were polite and accommodating which we would expect. The menu selection was varied with chicken, seafood, and beef dishes. The Osso Bucco was wonderful. The meat fell off the bones into a rich sauce on a bed of perfectly cooked risotto. The portion size was large enough so my two companions could have a generous sample. You simply must order this dish when you visit this restaurant.

We had breakfast here because we had a free voucher, thankfully. Took a bit to be seated and plenty of empty tables. We were seated and told of the buffet and omelet station, no menu to order from. Once we got up, the omelet line was 12 people deep and one person making omelets so we promptly skipped that disaster. We opted for the buffet which was well picked through at only 9am and was a mess. The eggs were burnt to the pan, and a crumbled mess, probably because they were powdered. The bacon and sausage decent and unfortunately didn't try much else as the fruit was mostly empty and no options for healthier yogurt other than full fat, full sugar. The bill came at a hefty $40 price tag, which I gasped at! If I had to pay out of pocket I would have been angry, it was that bad. Service was nice, but overall it was dirty and unkept. Very disappointing for it being the Marriott!

The worst experience we have ever had. We ordered starters and one entrée, the entrée came first and the tickets were inappropriate with descriptions of more than half of our group of 9 people. The server is dismissive and not personable at all. The server also grumbled about seating us together and there’s no manager on staff at this time. We will be at this facility for 4 more days and will be letting everyone in our 300+ members of our conference.
loved the breakfast service. Please provide the buffet all days. it was sad to not have a buffet on monday, last morning of our visit

Service was good but a tad slow. we waited in a line to access the restaurant. Food was however very nice.

We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel on Saturday. The omelette bar was a bonus for me as i felt uncomfortable eating from the buffet. Dale was fabulous and wonderfully hilarious!

Mediocre restaurant that is still using COVID as an excuse to have a limited menu when the hotel is operating at full capacity. Over priced for a restaurant that is only offering hand held food.

Stayed the hotel for five nights with family. We had breakfast each morning at the Writers Bistro. The breakfast buffet had your usual fare(French toast, bacon, eggs, etc). The service was exceptional providing things we wanted before we could even ask. The food was also very fresh.
