Grandfather Vineyard & Winery is a serene getaway nestled in the Pisgah National Forest, overlooking the Watauga River. This picturesque vineyard spans over 10 acres and features terraced vines for optimal sun exposure. Visitors can relax on the hillside vineyards, enjoy live music, and savor a glass of wine, such as the recommended "The Scholar". The winery offers an outdoor seating area, picnic tables, and a food truck on weekends. The property showcases beautiful scenery, including Grandfather Mountain as a backdrop, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Following the challenges posed by Hurricane Helene, the winery has worked hard to recover and restore its vineyard, showing dedication to providing high-quality wines. It remains an ideal day trip or romantic getaway, perfect for enjoying a wine flight by the rushing river. Guests have noted the friendly atmosphere and tasty wines, with the basic rose being mentioned as a highlight. While the venue is enjoyed by many, there are suggestions to expand the restrooms to better accommodate the increasing number of visitors. With dog-friendly and picnic-friendly areas, Grandfather Vineyard & Winery continues to be a great place to hang out and enjoy the vibe.
