Always a great experience, whether we stayed at the inn, or cabin rental. I’ve eaten here many times, always on point. Thanks Steve
Wonderful food, drinks, and even better service! Our server, Jane, was so incredibly sweet and helpful. Her hospitality alone will bring us back to eat there again with our family! Thank you!

Long wait, bad food. Comparable to frozen dinners. Not fine dining.

Butter lemon trout is A++++++
We ate at Alpen this evening. Service was unfortunately slow, but management addressed the issue professionally and humbly.
Our food was very good with good portions.
Applaud them.

We had a horrible experience here! We were there for 1.5 hours, and all we had received in that time was our appetizer and drinks. Horrible service!! The stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer was good, but that is all I can comment on their food. After waiting over 40 mins for our meal to arrive, we finally paid for what we had gotten and left. Our waiter didn't even check in with us to apologize for the delay, ask if we wanted more bread, etc. The manager didn't even offer to comp us on our appetizer. There was another couple that got seated behind us shortly before we left. We saw them the next night, and they commented they also had to wait a very long time for their food, and were getting ready to walk out when their food finally arrived at their table. They had gotten some of their items comped that night, but again, it wasn't offered to us! After that night, we found out that they are running two restaurants out of one kitchen, the other one being a pizza joint. If that is the case, they need to hire more cook staff or stop this practice! It's compromising their business, and it also negates their claim of being a fine dining restaurant.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here as it is the nicest of the few restaurants open on Beech Mountain off season. We ordered the stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer, and a sirloin steak, baked potatoes and broccoli. The mushroom was excellent, as were the other items we ordered. The bread was warm and soft. In short, the meal was terrific.
Our server did a tremendous job on meeting our needs.
We were the only ones in the restaurant during the meal, so the atmosphere was a little strange. It was raining and foggy, but I'm sure in nicer weather the view would have been wonderful.
All in all, we made a great choice for a birthday dinner.
Was going to eat here but no servers around so we left.

Great food and service
This restaurant is a hidden gem that we just discovered after having been a regular visitor of Beech for four years! The food is terrific, and the selection is very fine dining. Our meal was wonderful!
Order the pork belly.....I think we had to have 2 and one to take home
Love the pecan trout!
Beautiful views of the beech mountain ski resort. We got there late around nine and were served so we are thankful. Food was ok not the best. Top solrloin was a bit tough.
I had the crab bisque it has good chucks but I think a couple of shells.
