“The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Huge portions for the steak and chicken combo fajitas (delicious flavor), and the tamales were also good. They have a good variety of children's options ranging from tacos to chicken with good portion sizes. The service was okay....we were welcomed and immediately sat and given chips and salsa. Ordered of meal within a few minutes of sitting and the food didn't take very long however if you need anything after receiving your food like napkins or a drink refill you'll need to flag someone down or go find a server.Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing place with good food and good views try it!”

“Always a great experience! Enjoy crossing the Watauga River into the Pisgah National Forest to relax at the foot of Grandfather Winery hillside vineyards! So relaxing. Since reopening under pandemic protocols, no tastings. However, the walkup window is so convenient. Outdoor seating was increased to include socially distant tables, outdoor restrooms, and additional picnic tables along the riverbank. Learn about the connection to the ASU viticulture program and how the vineyard has given back $50,000 to the university. Highly recommend tasting a glass of The Scholar! There is a local Boone restaurant food truck on site for snacks and handheld sandwiches. Live music on the weekends.”

“The location was convenient for us and the food was okay but not particularly memorable. Somehow I missed the grand view. Maybe they had the misfortune of having a neighbor put up a building in the middle of the view which had given the restaurant its name. Also, I've never gotten toast at a restaurant and only gotten one slice of bread. It's the cheapest and simplest thing to get as a breakfast item add on or part of an entree and I've always gotten two slices.”

The steak was near perfect cooked with a sear producing a good crust and an amazing tenderness with much flavor.The pan seared tuna had great flavor but the sauce with it left a bitter taste within my mouth, overall it was good.Charcuterie board had a wide selection. Some of the cheeses were extremely stiff though. All else was good.The drinks and cocktails were all prepared very well. Wine selection was good.Prices vary by menu items greatly, I’d say range per person with apps and meal and drink is ~90-125 for dinner.”

We’ve tried other places nearby for sushi and were disappointed, so it was refreshing to find somewhere enjoyable. We love the mini specialty rolls option! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They didn’t nickle and dime us for extra sauce or dressing like other places have. Luna’s will be our go to when visiting the mountains in the future!”
