We stopped for lunch and the food was good and the service was very friendly. We have a vacation rental on the mountain so we usually make this one of our stops.

Unfortunately this very good restaurant closed with no notice a few days ago. The message on their Facebook page seems final. It is closed permanently. Quite a loss for Beech Mountain.

Stopped by Rascal’s for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious! My burger was the best I’ve ever eaten. It was cooked exactly as I had requested and the flavor was incredible. My wife enjoyed her crab cake as it was full of crab meat and not overly seasoned. The fries that came with both sandwiches were great too. For dessert we shared a large slice of chocolate mousse cake … yummo! Although understaffed, the servers were quite attentive. I was most impressed that the chef came to our table so she could understand my food allergies and cook my meal accordingly. Now that’s service! Yes, we will be going back!

The food is always fresh, wait staff friendly. Good options from healthy to sinful. Love being able to enjoy the mountain air outside. The food is delish!

A lot of stuff was closed in the between ski/summer season, but we saw an open sign for Rascals and TripAdvisor didn't hate it, so we took a flier. Walked in - no reservation (didn't figure this would be a problem because nobody is up there now) and it wasn't. Got moved to the bar area for seating and got the bartender as our waiter. allow me to digress here... If you are a decent dining establishment, I don't care how short staffed you are. Please stop doing this. I've had it happen multiple times and it very rarely goes well. Either they're too busy to deal with going to tables, or it's not their forte and they don't like doing it and don't want to and it shows. Either way - the customer loses. Considering there was hardly anybody there when we dined, I didn't think this would be an issue, but it was. Please stop making bartenders do table service. In this instance, it was disinterest, because he certainly wasn't busy. He calls from behind the bar "what are you drinking tonight?" (no drink menus available, no tap list at the table, and I'm seated with my back to the bar). We both just went with water. Brings menus out and glasses of water. We scan over the menus a bit, comes back to see if were ready to order, we say 'yes' and he walks away and disappears (no - "I'll be back with tablet" or "hang on a sec" - just gone). 30 seconds later, reappears and takes our order. Brings food out - he sets it on the table says nothing, walks away, wife says (kinda loudly because he's walking away) "I'm missing my stuff on the baked potato" - other waitress walks over and says "he's bringing it - didn't have enough hands". Ok - I get that - but maybe say "I'll BRB with what's missing". We then observe other waitress with another group - tells them what beers they have, tells them what the daily specials are (what? there were specials?). He proceeded to complain about people calling in for take out orders and not holding, but also admitted that he sometimes forgot about them, and then understood why they hung up. Owner came out to ask about the food, she was attentive and nice. Other server appeared annoyed with bartender/waiter as well as heard her call out stressedly once to ask if he was busy (he wasn't) and then covering for him not explaining missing food. Had we had her, probably would've been a much more enjoyable meal. That being said my steak was very good and seasoned well. Wife's scallops were also good. Considering food quality, and location, pricing wasn't terrible. Would chalk this up as a poor service event and not a poor restaurant event and wouldn't be averse to trying it again, but it was not a great experience.

Had a great evening having dinner and drinks at Rascals. Staff very pleasant and service good. We split the fish spread and crab cake entree. Plenty of food! Recommend the Ruby Red Slipper cocktail.

I asked 10 times waitress if it is good meal for man after work. She said YES. Wasted 52$. 18 on shrimp salad with 4 shrimp ? you can see and 26$ on second piece of SALAD leaf. Never go there people. Dishonest serving just to pull your money.

I was in Beech Mountain for the weekend and checked out Rascals for dinner. The wait staff, bartenders, and chef are top-notch people. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with truffle fries and it was quite possibly the best buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever had. The prices are also very fair, I would have even paid a little more - it was that good. I will definitely be going back in the future. The experience all-around was very welcoming and the people were outstanding. Highly, highly, recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

We had a wonderful experience at Rascals! Danielle and Michael provided excellent service, checking on us frequently, going the extra mile in regards to our beverage and food order, and making sure we were completely satisfied with everything we received. The food was excellent and served in generous portions, leaving more than enough to take home for a future meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the restaurant is clean and cozy. I highly recommend Rascals to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience while visiting Beech Mountain.

Rascals is a great place for dinner and drinks. The food is good and so is the service. Ask for Danielle . She is super sweet and always has good recommendations for food and drinks.

New ownership has taken over and has transformed this place from awful to by far the BEST food in the area. Rascal’s food and service beats anything on Beech and surrounding towns (Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, Tynecastle and even Boone). You will not be disappointed. Dani (manager) and Chef Paula are extremely accommodating and are great with patrons. If you come to Beech or the area, make this one of your stops!

Great gem on top of the ⛰! Everyone was great and the food was marvelous. No need to go to Blowing Rock to find outstanding food. I had the duck and its was cooked perfectly. Everyone at the table raved the on the food. Can't wait to go back!
