Fresh Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta

This is not just a great pizza and I pasta place... Had a special last night; crusted fresh trout with charred brussel sprouts and beet quinoa...DELISH!! Their clams in butter wine sauce is great! Feeds 2 or enough for leftovers...same for their baked pasta. SO good! never had anything I didn't love! GO! ❤️

Wood fired pizza is not my favorite style overall but it’s pizza and I love all things pizza. Now that said this pizza was quite delicious! I highly recommend and I will return with each visit to Black Mtn from now on.

Decided at last minute to grab dinner. Other guest had pizza - excellent - thin crust with fresh toppings. I had calzone. Excellent - full of toppings. Big enough to share.

Fresh has a great atmosphere, and is very comfortable. The staff were friendly during our visit, and the place is cozy. We ordered a salad and two pizzas. Everything looked delicious, but was lacking in flavor. If there had been a little more pop in the salad dressing or a little spice added to the pizza sauce or toppings, we think it would have been more appealing. The pizza crust was pretty good, but the sauce was rather plain. Our waitress, Brittany was friendly despite being very busy. One thing we found out is that the restaurant staff calls out across the restaurant when an order is ready to be picked up and taken to the tables. We’ve never seen that in a restaurant, and found it somewhat distracting and unprofessional. Please note that this restaurant closes at 8:30, at least during the week. It was fine for a quick bite, but we would not return.

One of my all time favorite pizzas. When we are in the area, we make sure to stop by. The wait staff has always been great, never had any problems with service. The salads are excellent too.

So nice to sit outside, great, tasty pizza choices (with an option for “no char”!) and yummy salad (lemon vinaigrette dressing!). Great service. Enjoyable meal for all, including leftovers!

The restaurant was very busy so we ordered pizza to go. The crowd and the pizza we got proves this is a good place to go. The dining atmosphere looked very good. This is a must try while in Black Mountain. Be advised there is a surcharge for using credit cards.

Ate here once!!! It was amazing!!! The Orange cider and the Ace High Pineapple was amazing!! It’s like a party in your mouth! The service and atmosphere were great!! I hope this place made it through Hurricane Helene…

The food was amazing. Great authentic taste. Best pizza I've had since moving from New England. Service was great. The nachos were AMAZING. Best artichoke dip I've ever had. We'll definitely be back.

I am an extremely loyal customer. I am a new resident that has a hard time trying other restaurants simply because I love this one so much!

Service is amazing! The house salad dressing I would be for buying by the jug and bringing it home to dip bread in, it’s outstanding! Just like the numerous other items I have had by this point. Although I do especially love the chèvre pizza. I even tried the smoked salmon pizza too! We have both dined in and done take out, gone for lunch and dinner sometimes tempted to do both in the same day, all services were spot on.

My ex-relatives owned and ran their own Italian restaurant and I’m from New York, they have some of the best pesto and that’s saying something!

To top it off after Helene cut us off from our home and communication was lost, they were THE only one to respond with kindness and a willingness to help. I pray they, their staff and all their families are safe. I will be throwing them extra support in anyway I can, because they are not just any restaurant, they are a fantastic neighbor to their community and I commend them.

Anyone that would say otherwise simply doesn’t know what they speak of. Much love to all!

The waitress was wonderful. I had lasagna and a garden salad with the house dressing. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend the house dressing!! It’s also perfect for dipping your bread in!

The overall atmosphere and back story of the owner on the menu made it even better than just the food technically being amazing!

I was excited to try this place. The cheese board was my favorite thing on the menu. The pizza was decent. I wasn't impressed with the service. But, I'd be willing to give it another try.

I lived most of my life in Europe and had plenty of opportunities eating authentic Italian food. I also been striving to make authentic Neapolitan style pizza for many years. So I was very excited when I saw that this place offered Neapolitan style pizza. Neapolitan style pizza is cooked at very high heat and it can be difficult making sure that the toppings on the pizza are cooked without the dough burning. Some charing is normal and wanted on a Neapolitan style pizza. However, for Neapolitan style pizza you can only put a limited amount of ingredients on the pizza. Trying to please the American expectation of a pizza there was to much cheese on the pizza, which meant that the outer crust and the bottom of the pizza was chared way to much. It took a lot of drinking to wash down all the char. And due the large amount of ingredients the bottom became very soggy. Service was very good, though I would expect the server to know a little more about the food and drinks that serve so they can help the customer to make a better decision.
