The owner was wonderful showing us around and was very knowledgeable about gluten. I don’t think that his restaurant is open right now, but he serves delicious drinks and offers genuine hospitality!

Wonderful birthday dinner! Adorable space and patio surrounded by plants and flowers. My favorite thing was the lion’s mane cakes. Loved the elevated cocktails and dairy/gluten free ganache with cashew whipped cream. Can’t wait to try their new speakeasy soon!

Sat down quickly for dinner. Good service while ordering our food. Took 25-30 minutes for our food to come out which was okay because we were not in a rush. They forgot an order of roasted chicken. No big deal but then things went down hill. We then ate most of our meal without water. The mac and cheese pancakes had one bite of mac and cheese in them. We waited 10-15 minutes for the order of chicken. When it came out to the table it was not seared like our other orders were. We waited another 10 minutes after finishing our meal before someone checked on us for a bill. By this time we are again without water. The bill finally comes and we were overcharged one order of roasted chicken. Overall not a great experience.

Found while on way to Asheville. It was one of those experiences where everything is a 4 that could be a 5 with a tweak or two. We ate inside, the a/c wasn’t working well. I had coffee - the French press was not necessary nor did it work. Just sorta off. But, food was good - really good!

Everyone who worked here was extremely pleasant and hospitable! The food was outstanding. Extremely fresh and full of flavor. I wish we would have tried it sooner! I highly recommend Goldfinch! Make a reservation if possible, or you may have a lengthy wait…..but it’s definitely worth it!
Absolutely worth the drive from Hendersonville. We had an incredible evening at Goldfinch—everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food was on point. The Lion’s Mane “Crab” Cakes were perfectly crisp and full of flavor, and the Sunburst Farms trout was fresh, beautifully prepared, and paired with seasonal sides that really brought the dish to life.
The cocktails were a standout too. I had the Sidecar—smooth, citrusy, and balanced—and followed it with a French Martini that was fruity, light, and just fun to sip while relaxing on the patio.
You can tell the team here puts care into every detail, and it shows. It’s one of those spots where you can unwind, eat well, and feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem in the mountains. Highly recommend!
Goldfinch is a gem in Black Mountain!
Everything is good but one of our favorites is the Southern Bowl.
From the creamy corn pudding to the flavorful heirloom beans, every bite feels like a love letter to Appalachian cooking.
You can tell everything is made with care and intention and its just a lovely environment.
Amazing food and staff. We love that they are part of four community.
The food choices were fantastic! Service was a little slow but otherwise, it was the perfect choice. Make reservations if you can. We had about a 45 minute wait on a week night. The patio and drinks splendid!

Already been here an hour and still no food. Was told they opened at 430. Got here a bit after that. Was then told kitchen opened at 5. 520 was told kitchen was now getting started. Waiter went to check on additional wait time 15 min ago. May never review the food. Ridiculous wait. Hardly any customers here. Only one other table.
Charming spot with delicious cocktails and extensive GF / GFO / Vegan options. I had the bucatini with GF pasta and the vegan cheesecake (I avoid gluten and lactose) and both dishes were lovely; impressive cheesecake.
Chelsea serves with heart! She’s great. Awesome food. Def get the red curry and add pork. Will come again!
It's a base-vegan restaurant plus nonvegan options. The first place where there is more than one thing that I can eat because I have food allergies. And all the food there is very good. Everyone (nonvegan) I bring there likes it. I brought my non-vegan friend ... She claimed that she had eaten there before and didn't like it, but she was very, very impressed. Sometimes, the food is a bit slow to come out, i suppose, but i'm sure that's because they're taking the time to make it perfect.
Exceptional experience, always. My go to place for vegan and gluten free options, consistently delicious, freshly prepared food, the lion cakes made with mushrooms are my favorite entree.
Stephanie and Dan, the owners, are the sweetest people and always welcome their guests with open arms. They are both a great asset to the Black Mountain community.
Beautiful patio outside in a courtyard setting and a cozy ambiance inside, with heaps of character.
