Couldn't love this place more. Small but mighty menu, great service and a very cool space - what else can I get ya? Had a bourbon/honey/thyme drink (well, two), a half greens salad with cilantro dressing and a Cuban bowl with mustard roasted pork. 11/10 across the board, and served up by a great crew. Definitely recommend,

We found Goldfinch Restaurant while wandering around the village of Black Mountain. The food, service and drinks were amazing! If you are vegan you will absolutely love this place and even if you are not vegan which we are not. There are so many delicious options to eat. I had the Lion Cakes, an alternative of crab cakes made of mushrooms. My husband had jerk chicken tacos which were out of this world! We loved it so much we came back a second night! Thanks for your hospitality and we will be back again on our next visit!

I just arrived in black mountain and had some food and drinks here ! IT WAS AMAZING! The new owners Dan and Stephanie are simply the best. Everything was awesome, and they welcomed us to the fullest! Great place definitely would recommend to anyone looking for the best food, drinks and service!?

Goldfinch is a gem among Black Mountain's restaurant offerings. A thoughtful, healthy menu, great drinks (including NA options!), and wonderful service with a great vibe. The Southern Bowl is a favorite! The patio is top notch on a beautiful day, and the bar and dining room are also great if the weather is a little dreary.

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. They have ample outdoor seating as well as a cozy, nicely decorated dining room with a bar area. My friend and I both ordered the Cuban bowl, motivated by the fact it came with plantains. She added jerk Chicken to hers and I added pulled pork to mine. She said her jerk chicken was nice and flavorful, but I found my pork to be bland. We both LOVED the plantains; they were coated in some sort of seasoning with a little kick to it. This place is good for vegetarians as they offer many dishes to suit their needs. The bathroom was nice and warm and clean.

Amazing vegan dishes and options, with a ton of gluten free options too. The new owners are down-to-earth, passionate and nice people who came around to every table to talk to them about the food and experience! Went on VDay with the whole family and they even had helpful kid-friendly items. 10/10

Have not yet tried so I'll reserve an actual review for when I do. I just wanted to share with others that this place closes during winter. They didn't update their google hours, their website and on site signage make zero mention of it being closed during winter.We left Asheville to come here for dinner on our way home so very disappointed and having to dig to find an alternative with certain options. Please put a notice on your site and update your hours on google! I hope to try your food soon!Edit: I left a 4 star review from the start to ensure it did not negatively affect this business and as stated initially, only wanted to alert others that it was closed temporarily. That said, the response of the owner is unappreciated and it's put a bad taste in my mouth so I have no intention of visiting. I do hope others will still visit as I've heard good things about the food and service. I just personally had an all around bad experience with going out of the way to find it closed and then getting a response that I understand comes from a place of pain through a difficult situation, but certainly made me feel as if it was intended to guilt me into removing my review.

What a wonderful unique place tucked right in the center of town on Cherry St. There were 7 of us that came in together and they made us feel right at home in the cozy dining area with a fireplace and sitting area. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and let us know all the specials and even the one beverage they were out of. It was so nice to know prior to looking at the menu. The food was excellent. I ordered the red curry bowl. It was just the right amount of heat....as in spice...I like spicy and they did this up just right, you had the heat of the spices but it didn't detract from the other flavors of the dish. Hats off to the chef....you nailed it!!!! I will definitely be going back again and again!!!!

Love this place! We dined on the lower level which had the coziest vibe! The food was amazing! We had the Red Curry bowl and Trout tacos. Fabulous! Our server, Amber, was very attentive and super nice! Will definitely go back!
