Great tour. Great whisky. Dog friendly and people friendly. Whisky fans should visit.

We stopped here during a bachelor trip to do both the tour and tasting for our friend. It was amazing to see all of the detail that goes on behind the scenes to create whiskey/gin! I ended up walking away with a bottle on their Barrel Reserve Genever Inspired Gin as it was such an interesting contrast to the typical Gin spirit. William is the owner and the leader of the tour, he made sure to answer all of our questions (of which there were plenty) and the remaining staff provided us with amazing service and cocktails during our visit. 10/10 would recommend.

Could not be more impressed. Their 2 gin expressions are excellent. Definitely approachable for the whiskey drinker. Their other liquors drink well and the 5 year single malt is an unexpected treat. Coming in just north of 90 proof it drinks big.
Staff was super friendly. Brought the dogs and they loved on them. Worthy stop for sure. May even go back tomorrow.

Excellent and informative tour. Delicious mixed drinks and whiskey & gin tastings. Warm and friendly hosts. The best distillery tour we've been on.

The best gin around, hands down! Unlike most (juniper-based) gins that taste like they were distilled with pine needles, Oak & Grist genever-inspired Gin has none of that "piney" after-taste. When used in their cocktails, cultivated on-site, often using homemade shrubs or other locally-sourced ingredients, your taste buds are in for a treat! Come on out!!

Pleasantly surprised. If you’re a whiskey drinker, you’ll be blown away at how good of a product they have.

Usually whiskey makes me involuntarily frown. I was pleasantly surprised when Oak and Grist’s whiskey went down with ease and delight. I never thought I’d ever be a whiskey drinker, but here I am!

Enjoyed the tasting very much. All offerings are very drinkable. Left for home with several bottles.

Had a great time making my own whiskey blend at their recent workshop. They walked us through the whiskey making process, then we got to sample from 4 different barrels (double the bottle proof!). Then we used the 4 at bottle proof to make our own blend. I left with my own personal labeled bottle.

The Barrel Blending workshop at Oak and Grist made me a master blender for the day. Thank you, Will and Charlie, for a behind the scenes look at Oak and Grist to see how the magic happens. Allowing me to be part of the process was priceless.
I wanted to know more about the flavor profiles and nuances of a great whiskey. Where do those flavors come from when there are only 3 basic ingredients in each bottle? Having the opportunity to blend my own bottle of single malt whiskey from 4 different barrels and label it with my personal choices to go home with me was amazing.
First we tasted 4 different single barrel whiskeys straight from the barrel at barrel proof (around 130%). The oak barrels ranged from new with different chars to reused (wine and bourbon!). Then the blending began. Using these same 4 whiskeys at 92.5%, we analyzed profiles, tasted and blended the 4 single malts until we found our perfect elixir. What a great experience! Looking forward to my next dram as I reminisce exactly how this blend came to be.

Awesome spot !! We went here for a distillery tour, and the owner/founder Will walked us through a very interesting and detailed discussion of their distilling process and was happy to answer any questions we had. The staff was incredibly friendly as well. We had drinks after the tour and chilled in their beautiful, expansive outdoor space. Would recommend for a weekday post-hike spot or a unique place to start a night out before going out in Asheville. Pet friendly as well!

Located 20 minutes outside Asheville,we decided to stop on our way back to Charlotte.Very small locally sourced distillery located in a small industrial area .They are a 100 % grain to glass small batch gin and whiskey distillery. They do tastings for only 1.00 each, flights as well as hand crafted cocktails. We tried their Barrel Reserve Gin matured in casks for at least 1 yr,Single Malt Whiskey and their Rye Whiskey. They do sell bottles to go but we're out of the Rye since it is a limited release only available at the distillery.Their spirits are good in taste and are worth a visit.
