NO FOOD. The beer selection is super solid and the drinks get you where you're trying to go. The one bartender made my paloma with tajin, which I was not expecting, and it was HEAT. If you're looking for a good dive bar this is the spot.

Town Pump Tavern quickly became our favorite local bar during our stay in Black Mountain. It’s got the perfect dive bar vibes—cheap drinks, good service, and a super cute back patio to hang out on. No frills, just a laid-back, fun spot to unwind. Loved it!

The lady with glasses was very rude and cause a scene. My friend and I decided to go somewhere else. Very snubby. It was 2 weeks ago. Right place...she was rude. I told the barmaid she was pretty. She rudely responded that she wasn't going to allow that in her bar. Weirdo. I was being kind. She told the whole bar and made a scene. Fact. Right place. I know what I'm talking about. I give reviews everywhere I go. 58,000 people have seen just photos I've posted. I didn't even bother writing a good review, because I'm not sure who she thinks she is. Actually, not pretty. Rude and unprofessional. I will pass the word around.

Pretty decent spot. 100% a dive bar. Pretty small. Decent patio out back. Cash only - come on bar owner, don't make us suffer bc you cheat your taxes!! My only real complaint was that the beers on tap were a little flat and probably at the highest temperature that could still be considered "cool". Is luke cool a thing. If it's not, it should be - cause luke cool is really the best way I can think to describe it. I thought the prices were fair. And I was pleasantly surprised to even find a place in black mountain open past 9 or 10 on a Wednesday and still serving beer. I'd definitely go back if I had occasion again while in Black Mountain.
