Greasy overcooked pub food. Tried a few months ago and decided to give it a second try with different menu items and it was no better. I had the beet and walnut salad and it was plain and small (even though I ordered the large). Also ordered bang bang shrimp- these were so overcooked I couldn’t eat. Servers were very friendly though. Won’t be back.

We go up to the Boone/Blowing Rock area a lot. Kid went to college at App and lives nearby. Restaurants are sometimes difficult to get into. We decided on Foggy Rock. An hour and a half wait we were told. So, the son-in-law and I decide to find a table outside while the girls get our beers. HEATERS outside on the porch. Big TV outside too. It was NOT a 1 1/2 hour wait. MAYBE 35 minutes. So we go back inside to a nice high top table for 4. J.P. Is our server. Not enough good things can be said about him. Attitude, attentiveness, personality and care in his job are all evident. He answered our questions about the menu and dish details. Two of us, myself and my daughter, got the Trout Trout Trout. Yes, that's the name. Trout 3 different ways over potatoes with some kind of witchcraft sauce. It was magically delicious and asparagus spears on top. Simply wonderful. My wife got a wonderfully yummy Pork Tenderloin sandwich with, as Joe would say, NO JOKE, the BEST French Fries I've ever had in my life. Yeah, she let me have a few. The son-in-law got some kind of chicken pasta with a sauce obviously concocted by some kind of mountain wizard. Incredibly good. This was AFTER the HUGE pretzel with amazing cheese sauce and some cheese curds. Foggy Rock was FANTASTIC. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. Great beer selection. EVERYONE we met there made us feel very comfortable and TOOK CARE OF US. We will be back as often as we can. Thanks J.P. !!! Hope to see you soon.

There was a bit of a wait to eat here, but once we were seated, we understood why. The food was really tasty!

The bottom line is that the owner, who also owned the recently closed Sunny Rock Eggs and Things breakfast restaurant next door, closed the wrong restaurant! The other was our favorite place....anywhere! We were so disappointed (as were others in cars next to us) to pull up and see the sign it was permanently closed, so we went next door to Foggy Rock. The menu had their Philly sandwiches as a favorite, so one of us ordered that. The other ordered "The Rock" burger. The Philly was very greasy and the burger was clearly pre-frozen and didn't taste fresh. Both of us got sick that night. Close this restaurant or turn it into Sunny Rock and definitely get rid of the current menu or get a better chef and supplier. Gave it a "Poor" instead of "Terrible" because of the atmosphere.

Great local watering hole and restaurant. Burgers, cheese steaks and chicken wings were very popular at our table. Home made chili was also a hit. Very good draft list of local and in state beers. Will certainly be back.

We were seated quickly and waited on promptly. Our server was awesome. There are so many great items on the menu it is hard to choose. As a group we ordered, bang bang shrimp, Eurasian fusion, pork Philly with homemade chips, pecan salad with balsamic dressing and chocolate ganache. EVERYTHING was delicious. This is a restaurant we look forward to visiting every time we are in Blowing Rock. So happy that we happened upon it years ago.

Atmosphere 5.0 – exceptional, love the woodsy, rustic touches throughout; why even the men’s bathroom even looked cool including urinals made from beer kegs : ) Service – 4.0 – and I’m grading on the curve here for I believe they were short-handed, an all too familiar refrain these days, hard to blame the restaurant for that Food – 2.5, average at best; Philly Cheese Steak 2.0 (greasy, way too many grilled onions and boy were they “oniony”, and way too much melted cheese (pretty good bun though); fries 3.0 (just ‘okay’); wife’s burger 3.0 was good but “very average;” homemade chips 2.5, many were greasy and soggy; margarita 2.5, okay but too heavy on the agave

Every time I've been here the food has been exceptional! Never been disappointed by this restaurant :) Great food especially after a long hike! I recommend any of their burgers for sure

In BR for the weekend with friends and decided to hit Foggy Rock, as I've had a good experience in the past. Decided on the Trout Trout Trout entree, as it's one of their specialties and I'm in a hub for trout fishing in the mountains. Good choice ! Three perfectly prepared filets (Parmesan Crusted, Blackened, and Fried) with roasted fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus. My wife ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Salad which was a large portion and fresh and topped with fried shrimp. She enjoyed her choice. The Royale Burger, ordered by one of friends was a very lackluster a meal. The burger was completely without flavor and may have been from a frozen patty, not fresh, nothing Royale about it. Wings- we got the Spicy Honey version, which were not bad, just not anything special. Fried cheese curds- not very crispy or tasty. Overall, not a bad dinner but not exceptional tonight. On my last visit, I recall enjoying a chicken salad croissant with a bowl of whatever the Soup of the Day Special was and leaving satisfied. So, there you go.

I grew up going to this place a lot. It's a decent restaurant with a fairly conventional atmosphere and food selection. Can't go wrong with it.

We sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. Service was quick and friendly ( even though they were very busy) and food was delicious.

The food just doesn’t seem the same. The old “Big Salad” was better. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was a bit disappointing tonight. We are just not overwhelmed by Foggy Rock anymore.

This is a great place to get together with friends, eat a good meal and have a few drinks in a relaxed casual atmosphere. There is a nice bar with lots of TVs to view your favorite sports, as well as a few dining rooms to sit and enjoy your meal over conversation. The wait staff is friendly, efficient and bubbly. Our server, Liv was very good, and checked with us several times to ask if there was anything more we needed, and she got back to us quickly with our requests. They have an extensive menu with lots of offerings. I chose the Royale burger with cheese, and a side of potato salad. The burger was succulent, perfectly prepared, and the potato salad was delicious. My wife selected the Chicken Salad Croissant Melt sandwich with a side salad. She raved about it! Other members of our party got the Green Bay Packer Burger (Fantastic!), the Reuben Philly with chips, the Drunken Pork sandwich with chips, and an order of Great Little Smokies with the Local Fried Cheese Curds. Everyone enjoyed their meals and beverages. Nice clean restaurant, with great food and service.

Great food and handled a large group with ease. Food as always was wonderful. Parking is always tight but don't give up.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and brought the dogs out water to the patio. The large pretzel was a hit and the beet salad was delicious. The homemade chips were so delicious. Everyone had a pleasing meal. We even tried a pumpkin beer which had cinnamon sugar around the glass.
