My wife and I went for dinner. There were dishes that were amazing and some just ok, but overall a great meal. The service was lackluster. The views and atmosphere make it a pretty amazing experience. Next time we’ll try to get a room before it books up.

Our experience at the Restaurant at Gideon Ridge exceeded all expectations, which were high to begin with. We arrived a little early and were greeted with a smile from the hostess who suggested we have a seat in the living room for a few minutes. After ordering glasses of excellent wine from the pleasant bartender, we struck up a conversation with some guests who were enjoying the fire. The hostess came to see us to our table but when she saw us having a conversation, she tactfully made eye contact and returned for a few moments to her station before coming back to seat us. Our server, Anthony, was very friendly and seemed to appear before we ever had to look for or him. Each course that was served was prepared beautifully with flavors that melded astonishingly. Can’t wait to return!

Highly recommend the venison. I substituted the scallops with halibut and no crab creamed corn.Dietary restrictions: Shellfish allergy

We had the most wonderful meal here for my birthday! It was our third time but I’d argue our favorite.Amazing service. The sage gin cocktail was delicious. We got the pate, calamari & lamb cheek to start and dangggggg, just perfect all around. For mains, we split the scallops & the short rib. They were both unreal. Best meat we’ve ever had and the scallops were phenomenally delicious. Our waiter Jeremiah was wonderful and led us through our delightful meal.I’m excited to return this summer because the one negative of a winter dinner is you miss the outstanding view.Cannot recommend highly enough. We are so lucky to have such fantastic food in the High Country!

My husband and I had the sweetest finale to our 5-year anniversary trip at The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge! The ambiance was very warm, cozy, historical, and quaint. The staff were very kind!If James Beard had a category for best waiter, we nominate Anthony! Anthony has a gift for hospitality and was very intentional and personable.I have quite a few dietary needs that can be difficult when dining out, but chefs Womble and Harding, Anthony, and the kind lady who took our reservation never made me feel like an inconvenience or burden but rather excited to have us and delighted to not only accommodate but enhance our experience! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! The Wagyu beef was a culinary adventure, and we loved that you source many ingredients locally! We can’t wait to hopefully return soon and also take in the beautiful view of God’s majestic mountains from Gideon Ridge! ?

Excellent meal here tonight. Jeremy was our server and he made wonderful recommendations. I really DID have the best pork chop of my life. The chef came out before dinner to describe a few of the seasonal appetizers. We ordered both of them. Boy was that calamari amazing! The pork cheek was very good as well.

Gideon Ridge is a very special place. I've lived in the High Country the majority of my life & the view from the sunroom will leave you in awe. I'm a classically trained chef (Johnson & Wales - Charleston, SC 2003) & can't stop thinking about the presentation, flavors & textures on each plate. Chef Hunter Womble creates menus that incorporate & highlight local ingredients. Each dish he offered was perfectly balanced, comforting & seasoned to perfection. His ambition coupled with his rare talent gives Blowing Rock a true dining experience that rivals some of the best restaurants in the USA. I can't wait to try more offerings as the seasons change. Reservations are required.

We had a fantastic dining experience here. Our waiter Anthony was amazing, he made great recommendations and was there when you wanted him to be. The ambiance and views are off the hook as well! We got the pork belly appetizer which was right on point with the flavor and crispness. I had the scallops which were seared to perfection and not over cooked, it came with a turnip purée and root vegetables that were all done just right. My wife had the duck breast ordered medium rare. It was a beautiful presentation but the meat was very tough and difficult to cut or eat. It was served sliced by the chef, so not sure why it left the kitchen because the chef had to know how tough it was. It was still pretty rare so we will try to heat it to medium rare or so at home to see if it helps. These things happen. so felt we should let you know.
