Listen, we’ve been coming to the area for 28 years and without fail have come to Twigs. Always a great experience. Tonight was the worst experience ever. We brought friends and had a 7:15 reservation. We didn’t leave until 9:30, and not because we were having such a wonderful time. We waited forever for drinks, appetizers, salads and the entrees, which were lukewarm. The place was almost empty when we paid our bill. We asked for the mgr and the waitress rudely asked how could she help us, no mgr. So she comped us a meal and a drink. I truly believe the management is incompetent and doesn’t know how to properly staff the restaurant. We will be looking elsewhere going forward. Lots of other options folks.

Went on Tuesday night April 23, sat at the bar to eat and have a drink...bartender was unfriendly, and seemed disinterested in creating any kind of enjoyable experience ....food took too long to come out , we sat and watched as others who ordered long after us got their food...he said it was because the chicken takes a long time to cook....It's roast chicken breast. Doesn't take that long....also didn't have the parsnip puree, he said the dish came with what I was supposed to get....he also forgot to order our salad with no onions...gave a half hearted oh sorry I forgot...quinoa dish was uninspiring and plain....overall worst experience we had in the boone/blowing rock area...every place else was great all around, not twigs

Came in late on a Wednesday, and ordered a steak like a total jerk. Our server, Cole, greeted us like we were the first guests of the night. The bar got us cocktails right away, the entrées came quickly, with the steak cooked ON THE MARK. Chef (and evidently Chef's son) are pros. Hands down one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Also get the friedBrussels. Just go here. Promise you'll enjoy it.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner after a long day of work. Our favorite place in Blowing Rock closed down so we wanted to try something new. We didn’t have a reservation but the hostess was friendly and got us a table. We were a bit under dressed since we work in construction but we were treated with great service despite that. Burlene was our server and she was excellent. Food was hot and delicious, beer was cold, and dessert was wonderful. We would definitely come again

I go to school at Appalachian State University, my parents live a considerable distance away from me, so when they traveled up here for my dad's birthday, we wanted to go to a really nice restaurant. Needless to say Twigs exceeded expectations. While somewhat pricey, the quality of food you get matches the hefty price tag. Everything was delicious, I highly recommend their tomato bisque, and crab cakes. Our waiter and other staff were highly attentive, and appetizers and entrees came out in a speedy fashion. Would definitely reccomended if you don't mind spending more for a really nice meal.

I paid 50$ for the ribeye special. I asked for the Demi glaze to be put on the side. When it arrived the glaze was not on the side. I asked the waitress to get me the glaze. She returned several minutes later and said that the chef said no ...... unbelievable !!! I paid for it. Now the chef is deciding that I cannot get it on the side. When I asked further the waitress expressed that the chef might yell at her. I'm shocked!! I would like to talk to someone in management but when I left there was nobody at the door or hostess station. Be alert - the chef is deciding what you can have for the money you pay. I would have made a bigger deal about it but I was on a date. Bad business !!

The food was splendid, and the server was very friendly when she was actually at our table! my partner and i had a reservation, and we were even sitting directly next to the kitchen. our appetizer course was swift and delectable, and our salads came out in a timely manner. our main courses, a salmon and ribeye, took the bulk of our time there to come out. after sitting, and waiting until my appetite had left, i had to wait another 5 minutes for a togo box (that i had to flag down another server to ask for). i understand it was her first day, but it was so sad to see her put so much effort into her other tables while she ignored us :(

Ordered to go. Huge mistake!!! 2 shrimp cocktails w/out cocktail sauce. Trout that was flavorless. Steak ordered med well. It was med rare. Had to cook it myself. Called and told hostess. She said we could come back for cocktail sauce.Don’t eat here. Not worth the cost!!!!

Last weekend was truly amazing for me and my boyfriend! We were finally able to break away for a much needed date night and it was such a blast. We had the pleasure of meeting some of the friendliest people, and one person in particular (I cannot remember her name, but she was a young woman with brown hair who was wearing two necklaces.) left a lasting impression on us. also, I cannot forget the amazing manager who took care of us and provided excellent service! We can't wait to do it again!

Twigs really excelled at ambiance, with nice white table clothes and twinkly lighting throughout the restaurant. Tables were spaced far enough apart that you could enjoy an intimate dinner with your table party and not overhear all the other diners' conversations, which I really appreciated. Their food was pretty good, but not as good as I expected for the price. Their fried green tomatoes were good, but thicker cut than usual and loaded with toppings; good friend green tomatoes don't necessarily need all the accoutrements. A house salad came with the entree, and I appreciated that they actually left the dressing off like I asked! The pecan-crusted trout was tasty and the fingerling potatoes were nice. My husband's crab cakes, though, were just okay, with more filler than you would expect for the price. The drinks were very affordable ($10 for a cocktail) but had very little alcohol--it was mostly a glass of ice. Service was incredibly slow, so it seemed like there was some general mismanaging going on: we had a reservation but when we arrived, it still took them nearly 10 mins to seat us. The waitress sometimes seemed to forget about us, or was overstretched, because we had to ask her to refill water and she only brought the bread service after our entrees had been delivered. Our meal, with just appetizer and entree, was 2-hours long because of the slow service. If you want to have the feel of a nice restaurant, go to Twigs! If you care more about the meal and service, I recommend trying one of the other restaurants in the area.

I wasn’t going to write this review out of respect for the staff, but if someone else had, then I would have not wasted $150. Salad was good, but everything else was burnt, no seasoning, just bad. Sever was not bad, but obviously lied to me.

when eating at the bar, I usually order their burger with an extra slice of cheese and it is always delicious. The bartender also makes a perfect Cosmopolitan. The service is excellen. We also eat in their main dining room and no matter what we order, the food is always delicious. The ambiance is delightful with just the right lighting, white tablecloths and candles.

What a beautiful place. It smelled like a Christmas tree and was so beautifully decorated. I got food to go and it was really good. Super friendly staff too.

Apparently this location does not know what salt and pepper contribute to a meal. Had the wild caught salmon with brown sugar glaze. Salmon had absolutely no sugar salt or pepper flavor, was completely bland. The risotto was also made without salt and pepper somehow, do they have these common seasonings? The caesar and lobster bisque were quite good but the entree was completely flavorless. Had a reservation at 7:30 and got there at 7 with 1 additional person and said we would be fine waiting by the bar until our reservation time. Which caused the hostess to throw a tantrum and seat us with attitude. Our food came out around 8:35 and our waiter Logan came by around 8:40 asking us if we needed anything else to accompany our meal, which we asked for balsamic dressing to try and help the salmon from being completely flavorless, which we were told that the kitchen was closed and he was unable to bring us a side ramekin with balsamic. Were they planning on making it fresh in the back for every order? Very disappointed in spending $30 on salmon that 3 people ordered.Would not eat here again
