This was an absolutely great place to dine. Everything was delicious.
Amazing breakfast!
The food served was very delicious. I really enjoyed the country steak, fried chicken, vegetables, and their stewed apples. Perfect meal for our last day in North Carolina.
Simply awesome!
Being from the urban community they didn't make me feel out of pocket the server are very good food is great especially the steak biscuit off the chain some things they can improve on like corn don't touch the green beans leave them just how they are mama made green beans even though they are can I can tell but it's like being at mother house and from Buffalo NY the chicken is good they need frank hotsause chicken will be fire 🔥 not saying that it ain't but man if I can tell you I put that (sugar honey ice tea) on everything it gave me that Perkins vibe just all you can eat they bring the food right to you if you don't want it they take it back and bring you something else no problem there is no need to be rude or ignorant to anyone it not that type of environment just good food good vibes
Absolutely loved our visit to the Dan’l Boone Inn in Boone, NC with my wife and two daughters. The fried chicken and country-style steak were incredible, and the sides—especially the fresh green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, and country apples—tasted just like a home-cooked meal. We couldn’t pick a favorite dessert between the chocolate cake, banana pudding, and strawberry shortcake—they were all excellent. The wait to get in was totally worth it, and the family-style serving made the whole experience feel warm, welcoming, and efficient. The blooming spring flowers and beautifully kept landscaping outside added a perfect touch to the visit. A true Southern gem.
Great food , staff was great, Definitely returning
I have eat there a lot in the last 40 something years maybe 50 I didn't know it was still in the business I hadn't been to Boone North Carolina last time I was there before they widened 221 between deep Gap and Jefferson West Jefferson
The gravy was very runny & cold, (we were there when they opened up) ham & bacon too done. Biscuits were good, grits had zero taste. Service was great though, but definitely not $72 worth for 4 adults. Definitely not what it once was. 😞
Thanksgiving day food was okay. I don't think I'll drive there again for it. The waiters/waitresses were nice and attentive. We waited almost an hour and a half for our table. They should provide covered & heated waiting areas. The food wasn't as good as I remember. The coffee was weak. Sweet tea watered down. The biscuits were good. The turkey dry. None of the food was seasoned very well. Somewhat bland. Maybe, their fried chicken and biscuits are the best on the menu.

Never a disappointment at this place! The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent and definitely worth the price! My family eats here every chance that we get! I tried the peach cobbler for the first time tonight, and it was great, but you can't go wrong with any of their desserts!
