Really good coffee, funky, fun decor, lots of lunch and bakery choices including gluten free choices, and comfortable dining in choices.
such an adorable, charming, and welcoming place! dog friendly!! i loved the vibes of this cafe. there is an expansive menu and dog themed drinks. i got the salty daschund hot and thought it was delicious. the staff was very kind. lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. i highly recommend if you are in the area and in need of some caffeine / pastries / a place to chill

Tempted to give 4 stars because our wait in the drive thru was very long but the bagel I waited for was SO GOOD that it was worth the wait! I also really enjoyed the breakfast smoothie. I hope to dine inside next time, since i'll be returning.

This little coffee shop located between Boone and Banner Elk is an easy 5 STAR!!!! Adorable inside and out. Delicious coffee and had the Apple Pastry and it was amazing. Met the owner, Teddy, and she was very kind and delightful and she understands what it takes to deliver on a wonderful experience. My Wife loves several other coffee shops in the area but said Mountain Dog Coffee is her FAVORITE! Well done MDC.

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and the concept, but unfortunately the only nice thing I can say is the aesthetic is cute.
Food was made wrong, then was mediocre at best once fixed. The bagel was so dry it was hard to swallow. I saw multiple other customers send their food or drinks back for corrections as well. Probably one of the worst coffees I’ve had to date, tasted overly strong (and I like strong coffee…) and burnt. I’d expect a lot better. I literally threw my latte away and didn’t drink it. Service was also bad. I couldn’t get the WiFi to work the entire time I was there.
I’m not sure why the reviews are so high. I wouldn’t ever return.

I was visiting Blowing Rock with family and was craving a good sandwich. Got the chicken pesto sandwich on gluten free bread and it was absolutely amazing. Going back again tomorrow. It is often hard to get healthy farm fresh food on a vacation....but this place delivered. Highly recommended!

I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese croissant and a cortado. Both were excellent and the coffee was so good I took a second one to go. Nice ladies who work there also. Seemed like a genuine local meeting place with a great vibe. I would definitely visit again.

What a lovely treat to have Mountain Dog so close to our condo. Food was delicious! I had avocado with scrambled eggs. Omit the Aleppo pepper if you want. The scones and pistachio cake were fabulous. The coffee, delicious!! We will definitely return next summer. Kudos to Jill. She was wonderful!

Great spot to sit and get some work done. Dog park zone for the furry kids looks nice.

I can’t say enough about this coffee place. They have delicious gluten free options. The coffee is fresh and flavorful. The best part though is the staff. Everyone was super sweet and very helpful. Will definitely add this to my list to always visit when we’re in the area.
