We've been to this restaurant before, about a year ago, and had a good experience. However, it seems like things have changed since then. Overall the restaurant looks dingy and unkept, dirty and sticky floors and sticky tables. Server was friendly and greeted us promptly. We ordered 4 dishes: pesto pasta, meat lasagna, mushroom lasagna and kids cheese pizza. After we ordered the server came back and told us they were out of the meat lasagna, so my husband chose the Italian pizza. No bread or salad served with any of the dishes except the kids meal that got a salad. Lettuce wasn't well cut, almost like it was a whole leaf in there. Food was mediocre at best, except for the mushroom lasagna that was very good. Pesto pasta was way overcooked and didn't hardly have any sauce on it, it was tasteless. We had got this dish last year and it was much better. Pizza was horrendous. Undercooked and tasteless. Pretty sure at the least the crust was pre-made or frozen, if not the whole thing. My child ate one piece and didn't even want to take the rest with us. She said even school pizza has more taste. My husband ate a couple of pieces because he was hungry, but also didn't wanna take the rest. Server was great and very prompt. He gave us a small discount he said because they didn't have the meat lasagna. Overall terrible experience, would not visit again.

I treated my friend's and my family out for lunch during our vacation stay. I chose this restaurant based on the food pictures from previous customers' reviews.Pros:1. I recommend their signature French onion soup which I ended up ordering two bowls to share with everyone.2. My group enjoyed the artichoke dip with crusty toasted bread.3. I ordered the Cajun style pasta which wasn't served for lunch but the restaurant accommodated my request and allowed me to order that. The pasta was delicious!4. I ordered four creme brulee and it was well liked by the majority of the group.5. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs.Cons:1. I mainly cane for the grilled chicken breast with baked potato entree but it wasn't available for lunch.2. I ordered the salmon salad which was okay. Salmon wasnt that tender and medium rare but still manageable to chew and swallow.3. Lobster bisque wasn't that great. We hardly tasted any lobster. It was just too yellowy cheesy and creamy without the lobster taste.4. Not many people in my group liked the pimento cheese with veggies.5. "Grandma" complained that the booth smelled unpleasant like some kind of cleaning chemical that she refused to sit in.6. Dining table was very icky and sticky, that seems to be cleaned better.Overall, I highly recommend the French onion soup and their pasta dish.

This place is hands-down the best food, service, atmosphere and prices! They have a great menu- from excellent soups and salads to crème brûlée! The low country salmon is outstanding!! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!!

We were surprised that we didn't need the reservation! after reading reviews and the menu, we figured it would be a pretty popular place, Although clean and well-preserved (it is located in an old home), it was glaringly bright with no atmosphere Our server was bright and cheery and very helpful. My salad was amazing - the "Scottish" salmon was tender and mild and the greens were fresh and also tender, a very well put together salad My husband said that his Asian salad was very good but that the peanuts they added (by request) to the salad were unfortunately stale. A really unique plus is the add-ons they offer-free, for your salad! I would definitely go back

One of the best pizzas I have had in so long, and I ordered the burger which was very good. My daughter finished the pizza at the hotel. The crust is by hand and PERFECT. The ice cream peanut butter pie dessert was demolished it was so good. The place doesn't look like much, but we were very happy and satiated.

We came Here Per the Hotel Request and He Was right Absolutely Awsome And The Server Shea was Amazing She went out of her way to Please ad Acommadate US.The Dinner We had The Sirlion Steaks were Amazing along with the Sides But The Dersert was The Bomb Cream Bulee .Thank You Shea and See You Soon.???
Food was excellent. Everyone working was delightful. Brenna was fabulous. Great jasmine tea too. Calm & fancy environment. Even had kids menu. Hidden Gem!
Red Onion Cafe is a quaint cafe just off of the campus of Appalachian State. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with a strong knowledge of the menu items. The food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I came in last Wednesday 1/24 evening after a rough day. Was greeted by the best watress ever. Anna Lee took an intrest in me as a person. Was kind, friendly, and made sure I needed for nothing.
