Michael was PHENOMENLAL. His service was amazing. We spilled a beer and he quickly brought out a new one. He kept checking on us and was super helpful without being rude. Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. The entire staff we interacted with was very inviting, and super nice. We have been there before and will definitely return.

My family and I were in Boone to get a Christmas Tree and we decided it was time to get something to eat before returning home. After a quick Google my eldest daughter decided on The Local. We arrived at about 2pm and the place was packed. We were informed that it would be about an hour’s wait and that we could wait in the enclosed patio. The enclosure is a vinyl see-through curtain but it turned out to be warm and comfortable. As it turned out, our wait was and hour and after we received the text notice, we were seated promptly. After a quick check of the online menu, I ordered the Korean Pork BBQ Tacos and my wife ordered the Pork Loin. Both our meals were delicious. Other faves at the table included the Truffle Fries and the Fish and Chips. Overall our visit to The Local was a success. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the service was prompt and attentive without being too much and the prices reasonable.

Maddie was a really good server. Had the Boonie Burger that has smoked pimento cheese, fried green tomato, and dill slaw on a charred burger but it wasn't the flavor bomb I expected. Maddie brought extra smoked pimento and salt & pepper which made a difference.

The service was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed how much we were taken care of by Kendall, and our server Katie was very amazing and we enjoyed her personality. The manager Morgan came over and chatted and we felt very comfortable. I highly suggest the local we had an amazing time.
We were in Boone for the ASU parent's weekend, and my friend's daughter wanted to eat here. I'm not embarrassed to say that we ate there 2 more times that weekend, the food was so good and the servers were so friendly!
I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts appetizer, the she-crab soup, the side salad, and any of the sandwiches.
For my first meal, I had a sandwich with fig jam, goat cheese, and bacon that was to die for.
They have a great selection of beer and wine. The outdoor patio space is very nice and kid friendly. We ordered the dry rub wings as an appetizer and they were very good. My wife got the goat cheese burger and I got the burger with pimento cheese.
The food was excellent and we were very happy with the service. Would definitely go back in the future with a larger group.

This place has good decor, atmosphere and decent drinks. The staff leaves a lot to be desired, and I'm thinking "The Local" wants to keep a certain demographic out. I felt every employee who works there was very rude and disrespectful. The bar tender told me to back up from the bar as if I were about to jump her 😅. I'm just leaning so she could hear me. Then she recommended that the Wildwood across the street may be more my liking. I have no idea why she'd say that 🤷🏾♂️. Despite that i still left 28% tip.. The wait wasn't a big deal as they were busy. I have no problem waiting, but after being talked down by a hostess or one of the 4 ppl standing in the front and that bartender, we in fact took our business over to the wildwood. If I were to return in the future, it would not be by choice.

We came to Boone from Siler City to see the beautiful fall leaves. Unfortunately we didn’t think to check other local events and we came to town on a game day. Once we figured that out, we knew we’d have a wait because it was busy and that was fine. But we were prepared to make it as simple on our server as possible.
When our waitress came to our table, we knew exactly what we wanted, asked if we could order our whole meal and told her we wanted to be an easy table for her and she seemed REALLY grateful. As usual we got a burger to share, the server recommended the sweet potato fries, a Mr. Pibb and a water.
She was quick to bring our drinks, but we really didn’t see much of her after that. She did apologize for the wait, and I said I get that it’s going to take a while for the food, there were a lot of people there.
When we got our food, most of the people had cleared out. Our burger was cooked medium like we ordered it, but the outside was very charred. The sweet potato fries were very yummy. I wanted salt, but our table had none, and our server never came back to check on us for me to ask.
By the time we finished our food, after we stacked our plates and cleaned our table up so they simply had to wipe it down after us, our waitress came over about 10 minutes later and asked if we wanted dessert and we declined, and said just the check please. After 15 minutes of waiting and searching for our waitress, I finally asked another waitress to help us get our bill so we could leave. Then we watched her walk all over the restaurant looking for her. Finally my husband gave up, went to the bar and tried to ask for our tab there, and as he did that our server finally came up to him with the bill. As we were leaving she said “sorry there was a chatty table”….. I’m sorry but that is no excuse. We waited forever to get our bill because you were chatting? Not a good experience, would not recommend.
