Michael was PHENOMENLAL. His service was amazing. We spilled a beer and he quickly brought out a new one. He kept checking on us and was super helpful without being rude. Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. The entire staff we interacted with was very inviting, and super nice. We have been there before and will definitely return.

My family and I were in Boone to get a Christmas Tree and we decided it was time to get something to eat before returning home. After a quick Google my eldest daughter decided on The Local.
We arrived at about 2pm and the place was packed. We were informed that it would be about an hour’s wait and that we could wait in the enclosed patio. The enclosure is a vinyl see-through curtain but it turned out to be warm and comfortable. As it turned out, our wait was and hour...

Maddie was a really good server. Had the Boonie Burger that has smoked pimento cheese, fried green tomato, and dill slaw on a charred burger but it wasn't the flavor bomb I expected. Maddie brought extra smoked pimento and salt & pepper which made a difference.
