Came here with my wife expecting a nice dinner, but ended up getting scammed. A few days later I checked my card statement and saw that the bar bill had been altered and the tip was inflated far beyond what I left for just two drinks.
When I called, the manager immediately admitted the tip entered was wrong, but instead of taking accountability she made excuses for the bartender, saying he was “having a bad day.” That’s not a mistake that’s tip fraud.
Worse yet, they didn’t issue a refund. Instead, they charged me again for the corrected amount, leaving me double-billed. After three weeks of waiting, nothing was fixed. I had to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back.
If you value honesty and don’t want to risk being overcharged or scammed, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants in OBX that don’t manipulate receipts.

Fantastic food! Everyone was so pleased with their dinners. I even tried calamari for the first time and liked it! Waitress was super friendly and even recognized us in the grocery store later in the week. Highly recommend!

Absolutely incredible food with a beautiful view of the sound. Some of the best fried seafood you’ll get on the east coast.

Tracy, our server, was so sweet and helpful in recommending several different items on the menu.

My wife and I will be stopping here on every future visit to hatteras.

Sandbar and Grille : it was ok! We were seated at a table by the windows so we had a nice view! We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer that was pretty good! Something different to try!
We shared the shrimp scampi as a meal and it was ok! Will order something new to try the next time we visit! Unfortunately I can’t remember our servers name but she was very helpful.

This place was a bit of a drive from where we’re vacationing in Salvo, NC….definitely worth it though!
Menu is limited…no crab beyond crab cakes. DONT UNDERESTIMATE IT!
I got the Fried Shrimp and asked for it to be crispy and they did!
My son (9) LOVED the Flounder! Perfect kid portions for the price too!

Highly recommend!
Our server was awesome, a fellow born in upstate NY, which was cool bcuz we are from upstate NY as well!
All in all, 10/10.

First time visitors to this wonderful establishment. Staying in Avon for the week. Daughter in law took baby for a ride and came across this quaint restaurant and thought we should go as a family. Party of 16, 8 adults and 8 kids. Kids ranging from 13 months to 15 yrs old. Very busy. Wait time was 1 hour. Kids were behaving, we decided to wait it out and boy are we glad we did. Our server Sarah (not sure her name has a H) was top notch. So happy she was our waitress. Was not swayed by such a big party. Ordered drinks, dinner for everyone. Food was delicious. Everyone got something different. From chicken fingers for most of kids, Chicken caesar salad, ribs, fried /steamed shrimp, onion rings,scallops. Everything was delish. Would highly recommend. Worth the wait time.

I wouldn’t recommend. I always tip 20% (or more for exceptional service). Due to a series of events including our waiter cursing in front of our young kids, a dry, irritated personality, and taking an absurd amount of time to come take our order, bring our bill, and collect our cash, I decided to tip 15%. I handed the waiter my tip, he looked at it, scoffed, grabbed it out of my hand, walked away shaking his head, turned back around at me, and scoffed again. I should have asked for my tip back and left, but I chose to be the bigger person and let him annoyingly walk away with it. If you’re looking for great service, exceptional food, and a wonderful vacation restaurant experience, go somewhere else.

YUM!! Everything I had here was great. Their specialty cocktails were awesome and I got the yellowfin tuna for my meal and ate the WHOLE THING! Also the bourbon chocolate chip pecan pie was one of the best pies I’ve ever had.

Our bartender/server was fast and attentive. And we got to hang out on the back porch overlooking the bay while we waited for our table to be ready which was a great way to pass the time.

90's sports bar vibe but with a great view of the sound and less then mediocre food. Server was super friendly, pretty hot but forgot my soup, hot sauce, sauce for the fries and switched me from tonic to club soda during the middle of the meal. I'd go back for just drinks.
