If you like waiting two hours for cold, gelatinous food that tastes like it hasn’t even seen the sight of salt nor pepper, this is the place for you.

Close to the dock where shrimp boats, fishing boats and touring barges tie up. The senior potions were still large: fresh fried shrimp, oysters and flounder with Cole slaw and hush puppies with honey butter. Superb!!!

Sadly after many years I am done with this restaurant. The prices for the portion size is absolutely ridiculous now. The shrimp sauteed in butter advertised on the menu is actually tiny boiled shrimp covered in pepper with an oily margarine taste. $25.00 for $2.00 worth of shrimp. The ranch dressing for the salad was so watered down that it had no taste. My sister had the senior scallops and she was satisfied with her food. It looked good. The service was very poor. The waiter never came once to check on the table. Never asked why I was not eating my dinner and when I told him how bad it was he obviously did not care. I have a feeling that this is definitely not the first time he heard that. I will not be dining there again which is sad because the view from the porch is absolutely gorgeous. With the closing of Ella's and Dockside I am afraid of the loss of Calabash restaurants. But if unreal prices and the poor service continue so rapidly I can definitely understand why business is off. Memories of the calabash food of my youth may be just that: memories.

First time coming here to captain Nances, the last time we tried it was during a later dinner time and there was a long wait. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The portions are quite big.

Seafood house with a good selection and variety of food that shrimp I’ve had are the cold boiled shrimp. They’re a little bit expensive on some things. Their scallops are really expensive. Nice place to sit and meet looking at on the river.

Our server Mia was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly and efficient. The outdoor area was pleasant with a covered pergola. We had the lunch special. The portion if fish was generous. I ordered th broiled sea bass. It was cooked just right! A delicious meal!
