I got the flounder, baked potato, and slaw. The flounder was the worse I ever had, no flavor, taste like been frozen for years and I've been eating flounder for years so believe me it was the worse. The slaw wasn't any better. I wouldn't recommend it for a good place to eat at all.

Went 11/8 with friends. Nice portion for price & green beans are awesome. Amanda is a great server. Susan(hostess/cashier) came across as a racist. Talked to others, but refused to say anything to us and insisted on placing money on counter. Susan is the only reason I don't recommend.

We had lunch here and it was delicious! Everything was fresh! Lightly battered and fried shrimp, founder and deviled crab. The cole slaw was slightly sweet and cabbage was crisp. Green beans were like Grandma’s and hush puppies tasted homemade. Service was excellent and restaurant was clean. A must to try when in Calabash or nearby.
Went here with my family and we enjoyed the food and service! We ate inside but it was nice outside and seating available outside as well. Hushpuppies were provided as free appetizer while we looked at the menu for our meals. I personally had the lunch special which consist of coleslaw, fried fish, fried clam strips and fries. I would come back again for sure!

We saw this place on our way to the Dolphin Cruise Friday, November 8, 2024. The older woman/cashier, Susan, wasn't very friendly when greeting us. We didn't let that change our minds. We had a wonderful server, Amanda, who we enjoyed and we are grateful we had her because she made up for all the manners Susan is lacking. When it was time to pay, Susan chose to place my money on the counter instead of my hand. I needed change so that I could tip and she did the same thing. She attempted to repeat this same step with my friend, but my friend held her hand out and wouldn't pick the money up. Someone needs to ask Susan if she has a problem with blacks.

Food was fine and the service wasn’t great but I still left just a few cents less than a 15% tip on my bill. I get up to pay and the woman at the register criticized me for leaving basically a 15% tip on my bill which was already ridiculously high for 3 people. Absolutely ridiculous to comment on what I do with my money when she knows nothing about my finances at all. I’ve seen tables of 8 leave tips of only $3 before and I get ridiculed for leaving $11. Again absolutely ridiculous.
A big shoutout to our server, Mike! He was incredibly savvy and personable, making us feel welcome and helping us decide what to order. As someone who doesn’t know much about fish but enjoys seafood, I really appreciated his recommendation of the lunch special so I could try a little variety. I had the blackened flounder with crab cake, French green beans, and sweet potatoes, and it was all deliciously tasy— the flounder was buttery, flaky, and super flavorful! My friend got the fried scallops and shrimp with a loaded potato and some amazing coleslaw.
We were on a road trip, and I can honestly say I’d stop here again just for Mike and the fantastic experience he provided. Next time I'm in North Carolina, I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Mike, for making our visit so memorable!
