Great little coffee shops. Delicious breakfast pastries and iced lattes. So glad we found this little spot while visiting Calabash. Had a dirty iced chai and an iced mocha latte, both were great and the Bavarian chocolate croissant was a perfect sweet snack on a hot day.

We locals really want to keep this gem our own little secret but EVERYONE is welcome there! They are LBQT+ friendly which in rare in this small town. But they very much welcome vacationers and visitors. The ladies in there are always so sweet and friendly! I have been stopping here for my coffee everytime I work up in Calabash. My work as a land surveyor brings me all around NC / SC so I have tried A LOT of different coffee. The coffee cottage has amazing ice coffees, lattes, espressos, and pastries. The girls who work here are all very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is really chill. I will be stopping by anytime time I pass through Calabash in the mornings!

Relatively easy to find, the bright green building sits back from the main road. There is a large parking lot in front serving all the small businesses in the shopping area so can get crowded, but there is more parking available than most areas. I didn't see a specific handicapped space but there are many spaces adjacent to the building. There is a sidewalk further from the entrance which is a bit easier to travel than walking across the shorter distance, so choose your parking option accordingly.The interior is cozy and inviting even if a bit crowded. More than a couple people in line to order would require snaking out the door. There are a few comfy chairs and small tables inside as well as outside seating in the shade.The menu of specialty drinks is extensive as is their listing of flavor additives. The Salty Kisses is a salted caramel and mocha coffee drink which was just about perfect. The flavorings are high quality and the coffee base is excellent. This may be the best salted caramel drink I have had. My dining partner had a fall seasonal apple pecan cinnamon, which was apple pie in a cup. Another outstanding coffee drink.We also selected a couple items from their pastry and sweets case. The cherry Danish was excellent with plenty of cherry filling. The apple fritter had noticeable chunks of apple. Both tasted wonderful.Among the many coffee options in the area, the Coffee Cottage has to be at the top of the list.
