Service was good, so this has nothing to do with the review. They forgot to charge me or their system had a hiccup and being honest, I didn’t want them to take an L for a $70 tab. We drove from OIB to get some crab and seafood takeout since OIB has little to no options. It’s around a 20 minute drive for us but we were looking at reviews and it looked helpful. We got a pound of crab legs($31), along with some other items. Our order was placed around 6:40 pm.When we got home(20 mins later) I opened the crab legs and my husband immediately smelled the crab was slightly fishy(which wasn’t a good sign). I was looking forward to this so I tried desperately to see it through. I eat crab legs pretty often and have never had ones like this. They were tough to break open even with a seafood cracker device. The crab was mushy and breaking apart. Typically when you eat crab it will come out in a lump, so this was a first for me. The only part that I was able to get meat out of was the knuckle. I took a video to even show how difficult this was but can’t post it on the review. All of the broken pieces in the photo still have crab in them since it was impossible to get out.I called several times to see if there was a way that I could speak to someone since they close at 8pm. By the time I got my kids back together to head there it was 7:40 which wouldn’t have given me time to get up there and try to show them what happened. I have never left a bad review but they wouldn’t answer the phone. I am hoping someone calls me back tomorrow after seeing this and listening to my voicemail.

We visited just before closing at dusk and the bugs were a little too much for us. Otherwise great experience, delicious food and great views.

The place wasn’t open for business until the second week of March, but I did speak with the Owner very nice guy. He apologized for the mix-up but told me if I returned at a later time I wouldn’t be disappointed with the best and freshest seafood in North Carolina.

We’ve eaten here twice. I honestly think it is a bit over rated but the atmosphere is so cute we went back a second time. You can get much better food right next door at Captain Nances but it’s just so fun to sit at the bar like seats in the back right on the water. Service was pretty slow both times we were there but it doesn’t matter because you are there to enjoy the view anyway. It’s just really relaxing and a fun place to eat. I recommend you try it at least once. Keep your eyes on the sea gulls. They like fries too and will help themselves!

Delicious seafood right off the boat. My wife had a crab cake basket and I had a fried shrimp and sea bass plate. The Calabash breading is very light and tasty. Excellent service and a beautiful day to sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy our food by the water.

We were three for dinner and it was all lovely. Marianne was our server and she was delightful. We were all enticed by one of the specials of the night, red snapper with shrimp. We all opted for the blackened preparation. The fish and shrimp were well prepared with flavorful blackening but not too much so we could taste the seafood itself. The hushpuppies were particularly good, dark on the outside, hot and yellow on the inside, round in shape. They come with the plate and there are only a few of them (I think we got four with each plate) but they were excellent and super fresh! The fries were good. The coleslaw was good as well.Overall a very pleasant experience eating outside (I don't think there is any indoor seating?) at this small place which is tucked in by the water among larger restaurants flanking it. Again, our server was very warm and pleasant and chatted with us and made us feel very comfortable and welcome on our first visit. We are already talking about going back! Oh, and desert was delicious as well. We had the key lime pie which was not overly sweet and had a good kick of the lime and the coconut pound cake with chocolate icing was wonderful as well.No alcohol at all but that's a small sacrifice for what you get in atmosphere, service, and quality of food! I imagine getting a liquor license cold be prohibitively expensive for a small place like this.Highly recommended!Parking: Parking was a little amorphous. I'm not sure if we were technically in a neighbor restaurant's lot or not but it was very convenient!

Fresh seafood, great service! The peel and eat shrimp and desserts were our favorites. We tried the pound cake and key lime pie and both were delicious. Thanks to Mary Anne for making our time there so enjoyable!

The food was incredible. Mary Ann was so nice. You can sit right on the water. One of the fishing boat workers fished with our son off the dock when he got done eating. Such a fun dinner.
