Mark's Family Restaurant

Stopped for breakfast before heading home from the beach. Everything was good.

My family of 4 ate breakfast here and all of the food was delicious! Wait staff was very friendly. Location is very convenient to Emerald Isle, where we are staying. Husband got fried pork chop breakfast and I got the bacon and egg plate with eggs and home fries. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

This is a repeat visit for our family. Usually pretty clean and the fast/service is great. Good menu options.

My wife and I had breakfast at Mark's and we were disappointed with the ham they served with breakfast. It was extremely salty, leathery and paper thin. My wife couldn't even chew the ham. I forced mine down. I would suggest they purchase a better quality ham to serve. The homefries were so so. Eggs ok. The waitresses were very nice and came to our table multiple times to ask if everything was okay and refilled our coffee if we wanted more. We will try the place again. I don't think you should say one and done. We wish them continued success.

Easy peasy is what the server said when we ordered breakfast buffet. No kidding. Terrible buffet food. The eggs were sitting in water but I tried it anyway. Bacon was cold and sitting in grease. Sausage cold. Server came to take away a FULL plate & came again only to deliver a check. Never asking how it was, need a refill, or anything. Checking out, I expressed my experience and still walked out paying for a meal I didn’t eat because they called the waitress up who was also the manager??? And was dumbfounded. Said she didn’t know what I expected her to do. Maybe offer better service or don’t charge me $14 for food I didn’t eat. I can assure you after patronizing Mark’s for the last few years, based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone again.

No.no.no! Worst breakfast buffet. HORRIBLE waitress. Easy peasy she says as we order the buffet. I guess so. She didn't even ask why the full plate of food wasn't eaten when she took it away. It was cold & bland... I mean the eggs were literally in water. Bacon saturated in grease. Nothing had flavor. Awful. $13.99 for bad food. $3.00 for coffee & we didn't get refills. And they act like they don't know. Don't waste your money if you have taste buds.

We used to enjoy this place. This time the eggs were literally sitting in water on the buffet. Nothing looked fresh. Bacon was just dripping with grease. Waitress never came back to table to check on us. No refills. Slipped us the bill though. Horrible dining experience. Then when it was brought to their attention about our experience we were told that waitress IS the manager? Well, it will be the last bad experience there for us.

Good food great portions. Sweet staff. Heard they are starting a lunch buffet.

Hole in the wall spot. If your in the area this is a great place to stop!

Wife had a burger with mushrooms and daughter had chicken stripe with fries . All where great!

It makes me sad to write this review of Mark's. My family has been going to Mark's for the breakfast buffet for a couple years now. We haven't been for a few months. Today, we went and discovered the buffet has changed. The food was average at best and some things were no longer offered. The service was amazing as it always has been, but for 15$ a person, the food was poor quality.

Stay away from the mediocre buffet. Full menu looked promising. Coffee was really good dinner coffee and the servers are EXCELLENT at refills. Looking at ordering from the menu next time.
