The reviews are right about the wait, if you aren't there before the doors open you will have to wait around an hour. We got there at 5:06p and had a 40min wait. We waited in the bar area where the bar staff was very aware of who needed drinks and they made the drinks well. Their margarita was the best we've found on CB.Once we were seated our waitress was very friendly and did her best to ensure we had everything we needed. You are given bread and butter while you wait for your order. We had a salad, shrimp scampi with a baked potato, and stuffed flounder with green beans and grouper chowder which the portions and flavor both exceded our expectations.I'm going to say that the negative reviews can be ignored. Those individuals obviously had the wrong perceptions, expectations, treated the staff poorly, and/or were overly difficult. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Carolina Beach! Keep up the good work.

It was our first time to visit. It was a wait but that was to be expected on a Friday night at 7:00 pm during peak tourist season, only about 15 mintues for the 2 of us. I got grilled Maha and my wife got Stuffed Flounder. Both meals were quick, fresh and hot. Both were very good. I would recommend this restaurant and would put it on my return to list. The setting inside an old church help add to the experience.

Food was good. Caleb was an excellent waiter. The only issue I had, the crab legs were too small. I had to toss some away because the legs were too small to try & get it out. What I did eat was delicious.Love this restaurant.

Great atmosphere, great food and great service. Our waitress, Hannah, was great! I had the fried shrimp and it was delicious! My husband loved the lobster Ravioli! An hour wait at 6:45 pm but we’ll worth the wait!

Our server Davis was awesome! My husband loved his lobster ravioli and blackened shrimp. My steak and crab leg were some of the best ever. However, my side salad was mostly iceberg with only 2 cherry tomatoes and a single cucumber and my rice pilaf was dry and over seasoned. For the prices the sides should match the main.

The bartenders worked VERY well together. The service both ladies provided was second to none! They were both extremely personable and provided very prompt service. The food was tremendous as well. The lobster rangoon was a terrific appetizer. Highly recommended but go early!!

This is a good choice for a delicious dinner when visiting Carolina Beach. The decor is old wood, and I have to say the wood combined with humidity gives it a somewhat dank smell, but nothing you don't get used to after you sit down. I went with one of several specials that evening, a lobster ravioli with spinach and a cream sauce. I could tell it was made in-house, as the pasta fell gently from the filling at times. The sauce was incredibly good and they were smart to serve garlic bread with it so that no one had to watch me lift the bowl to suck it down - LOL! Side choices include salad or grouper chowder, which is a local specialty and certainly worth having. We were very pleased that we had narrowed the many dinner choices down to this one!

Very nice experience in a beautiful building. This used to be a church near the beach. The service was great but she did forget our appetizer. The food was amazing! I had the grouper special with lobster sauce AND I had the grouper chowder. Wow! So yummy. My friends had salmon and chicken. They also loved their dinners. I was sad that the only dessert choice was key lime pie. It is pricey. My grouper special was $37. But the portion was latge and it came with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

I had the Chicken Deck House and it was out of this world. My family had the ribs and they were the most tender ribs ever. Enjoyed every bite! Staff was very friendly.

My husband and I went to the Deckhouse last evening. We loved the beachy atmosphere/decor. Our waitress Lynne was the best! She was VERY attentive, and pleasant. She checked to see if we needed anything else at least twice. My husband had the ribs which we both agreed were done perfectly! I had the broiled shrimp which was perfectly cooked. The salad and dressing were excellent as was the bread! We will definitely be returning and make sure we tell friends and our renters that the Deckhouse is a must place for a delicious meal, service, and atmosphere! Once you've tried it you will definitely return over and over. I do know there is a bar area in a separate room with an area in that area with booths for dinner, etc

On my first visit to this restaurant, it delivered above & beyond what I expected! The food was superb, especially their sauces! We both chose the Black & Blue Grouper & raved over our selection! The grouper chowder was also a hit! Our server Sarah, knew the menu well, offered suggestions & was very attentive with our needs which made our visit a pleasant experience. We will definitely be back!
