This Place is AWESOME! MANDY AND HALA are AMAZING BAR TENDERS! EVERYONE SHOULD COME HERE!
K38 on Carolina Beach Rd…. Great food, great prices and the staff is the best part. Ask for Emma!!!! If she is not on duty ask for Alexa….
Service was great and they were very understanding. The food was the biggest problem extremely bland and unseasoned. The rice was soggy and seemed like they were out of a bag and placed in a microwave. Not to mention the server served our food touching her bare fingers. The water and ice had white spots (possibly mold) in it and was very nasty. Overall the service was great but the food was horrible and expensive.
The new K38 in CB is bigger and a lot of fun when they open the bar up to indoor/outdoor. Mandy's a rockstar at the bar, and the new shrimp taco special is excellent!
Food was delicious & our server Max was great!
First visit to K38. Staff and server were excellent. Salsa and queso were very tasty. Salsa has a decent amount of cilantro.
I had ACP, it was warm on the edges, but was not hot as I expect food from the kitchen. Another person with us had a beef taco that felt almost cold. Another had shrimp fajitas which looked great and steamed until they were finished.
We did not approach our server about the food temp.
Will try again someday.
Great atmosphere. Wonderful service. Food was absolutely delicious. I got the steak taco salad and a watermelon margarita. The salad was fresh and steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The watermelon margarita was the best I had ever had also with fresh ingredients. My husband got the blackened shrimp burrito and house margarita. He said it was delicious as well.
Service was good, food was ok, but was put off by the couple sitting at the bar feeding their little dog. Not sure if dogs are allowed in restaurants in NC but I’m pretty sure they’re not allowed to eat off the bar. Female dog owner, who was carrying the dog around in a purse, would take food off her plate and put it on the bar. The dog licked the food up off the bar. Nobody from the restaurant said anything. It always amazes me as a non-dog owner how dog people tend to think everyone loves dogs, especially theirs, but this behavior was unsanitary and likely illegal. It made me lose my appetite in any case.
K38 Baja Grill serves up a unique spin on Mexican cuisine, but it may not satisfy traditional cravings. The food was decent but leaned bland, missing the bold flavors I expect from Mexican fare. If you're in the mood for classic Mexican, you might look elsewhere. Service was attentive despite the bustling atmosphere. Indoor seating felt warm and stuffy with no breeze, as doors and large bar windows stayed open, letting air flow mainly outside. Outdoor seating offers a cooler experience but lacks the cozy vibe. Overall, a mixed bag depending on your preferences.
Our food was good, but it was 76 degrees inside with the bar window open. The food wasn’t the only thing cookin!

Just had lunch here today. The staff was great, food was great, environment was great! Will definitely be back again!
This establishment has become a Wilmington NC staple for our family. No matter the location, you know what you are getting. Fresh, tasty, and reasonable. You can't go wrong with the rolls, tostada, or enchiladas. Tonight was a soft opening for the new location in Carolina Beach, and I tried the Island shrimp wrap. Something new for a new venue. Shrimp cooked to perfection, and everything was fresh. Love the house picante. This restaurant is beautiful. Can't wait to spend some nights around the fire pit on the very large outdoor seating area. Our bartender Ayla was very helpful and pleasant. For all you looking for a great meal if you are local or just visiting you can't go wrong. Not tourist food.
The food is the best!! The drinks are the best. It’s a bit slow to get food. And the bill 🫣
Super excited to have k38 in Carolina Beach. This location is under the proximity condos on CB rd. This spot has both indoor and outdoor seating and an epic bar that is also indoor/outdoor. Food is top notch like their previous locations. Olivia was our server and super friendly and knowledgeable. The manager John was super accommodating and answered our questions. We are looking forward to dining here a lot this summer.
We came in for the invite only soft opening and it is definitely K38 in a much nicer bougie upscale atmosphere! There is a soft opening on May 28th but the grand opening will be May 3rd in time for Cinco de Mayo weekend fun! Our waitress Olivia was fantastic as she was very attentive (but not annoying in the least) and everything came out as delicious as we hoped. We will be back time and time again for sure and just hope we can get back in when we want because everyone is going to love this spot!!!
