Gray Squirrel remains my favorite coffee place in the Triangle. The beans are roasted onsite and the coffee is reliably good. Staff are very well trained on making espresso drinks. One quirk is their cortado is called a 1:1. The golden milk is great as are their homemade syrups. Baked goods are hit and miss. No tipping because the cafe pays a living wage. I only ordered a hot chocolate, but it was excellent, including the whipped cream. Service was friendly and quick. It is a great place to meet someone as there are plenty of places to sit at a table or bench and a spacious outdoor patio. There were some cookies/pastries for sale, but not a wide selection
This was such a great find for a cafe where one could down and work! There was a ton of seating options indoors and outdoors, though I’m not sure if many of the spots have a convenient wall outlet. I was there all morning, and it felt like there was always a nice amount of buzz from other customers, a good ambience for me to focus.
