Java Jive Coffee & Tea

Pictures make it look like a cute light coffee shop, its dark and dank. The musty smell right when you walk in was an instant turnoff. The bakery items looked old and mid. No worth wasting money here

You have never had an iced mocha until you’ve had a Java Jive iced mocha. I drive over 30 minutes for these!!

Really nice spot for a quiet cup of coffee.

Came here for an afternoon pick me up. Small little coffee shop in lochmere. They have a large selection, but the prices are quite high for the quality of what you receive.

I ordered a Frappuccino and it took them nearly 10 minutes to make it. Were not slammed and had 2 people making drinks.

this was an interesting place.
ordered the iced matcha, and i’m not quite the fan of the taste- it’s a poor quality matcha powder. though i get that matcha shortage is around, but it almost downright undrinkable with how bitter it ended up. my service was good, i conversed briefly with the employees before retiring to the seats- and that’s when the start of some troubling observations started.

in terms atmosphere, it’s a cosy nook, but i can’t say i’d stay here for long. i read the previous reviews earlier about the chair stain, and it’s still present. i noted a start of some mold on the ceiling— i do hope they take care of that soon. as well in my stay, i’ve found there to be an excess of bugs coming my way. i’ve came to be quite acquainted with some roaches i spotted on my stay.

overall, my stay specifically wasn’t quite to my standards, and i would say that it makes it difficult, considering i felt like i was at a dingy bar. a more energy and light should spruce up the air, and *hopefully* take care of that mold and bug situation before someone gets sick.

Hey we went there after reading the reviews for a good coffee. Tried hot Mocha and mocha frappe. Was good but not great. Staff was good and polite.

Best chai latte w/oat milk in the area. Mango madness smoothie is also great. We come here at least 2x/week for both.

They're now charging an extra 3% for using your credit card. Asali just down the road gives a 3% discount for using cash.

OMG, you guys! I just tried Java Jiving Cafe and I'm OBSESSED! 😍 The cupuccino was TO DIE FOR - rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. And the free gluten-free coffee cake muffin? 🤩 It was like a party in my mouth! Moist, flavorful, and SO delicious. Friendly stuff were🥰 ready to help you chose what to try. The cafe's vibe is super cozy too🧡 makes you wanna snuggle up with a good book.
Highly, highly recommend Java Jiving Cafe for all your coffee and treat needs! ❤️☕️

It's been about 6 months since I've been here and I'm not sure what happened but it's not the same place. The service was very good and pleasant. I went with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time and we were eager to grab a table and catch up. That's when the problems started. We both noticed the stains and spots on the chairs, and not just one chair, but most of the chairs. It made us feel like we didn't want to sit down and made us wonder how dirty the tables were. When we finally sat down, our coffee was served pretty quickly but they were both so hot (boiling hot), that we never got to enjoy them while sitting in the Cafe. After 15 minutes, we took them to go and they were drinkable 30 minutes after they were made. If I wanted to drink coffee at home, I would have just stayed home.
This place is so convenient to Lochmere (where I live) and it's so cute. With a few adjustments, it could really be a good local place to meet up with friends, but not until the cleanliness level vastly improves and the drinks are actually drinkable while in the cafe.

Java Jive is the vibe! Cozy atmosphere, lots of options, and friendly service. Plus the iced lattes were great- good flavors while still having a nice coffee taste. I would recommend looking at the menu beforehand, as there are a LOT of options!!

Baked goods are pretty good. Coffee is very good. Service with a smile most times. Inside seating can be loud as well as outside since it's right alongside Kildaire Farm rd.
Parking lot can fill up.
