I recently visited Penn Station East Coast Subs in Cary (NC) and had the chance to try their Classic Philly Cheesesteak and Classic Italian, and both were absolutely off the hook! Let's be honest, you aren't going to PS for the atmosphere. The food is awesome and, in my opinion, better than the other sub spots around. The real bonus here is the staff. They are always friendly, and most of them will engage in conversation. That makes all the difference to me. I would recommend giving PS a try if you haven't. Be sure to try the fries and the hand squeezed lemonade.
This place has gone downhill. I know it's hard to find anyone willing to work these days. But the prices here are very high for subs. 3 sandwiches with fries and drinks was over $50. Sandwiches were sloppily put together. Missing toppings. One took an extra 10 minutes to be ready. No ice for the drinks, etc. As rapidly as places are closing, this store has to do better.
