Stopped for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by this gem of an establishment. It was a expected pleasure to find while traveling. Great staff, beverage offerings, and reasonable prices.

Researching a special place to celebrate an important birthday, I decided on HC Kitchen & Bar based on the positive reviews and photos posted. Unfortunately this place was a disappointment from the start. It had a very limited entree menu, but that's okay. However, they had run out of the fish several days before, which was a let down because the birthday guest was pescatarian. This left only a handful of options. Four of us ordered the pasta with vegetables. This was a heavy, alfredo-like dish with only zucchini and yellow squash. The portions were inconsistent, mine being half the size as my mothers'. One of the dishes only had 4 pieces of zucchini. It should have been called spaghetti Alfredo. Paying $$$ for a dish like that will make you lose your appetite quickly. Wait staff never checked on us, and failed to refill water until we were done eating (almost everyone had an empty water glass). If they were busy, I'd understand, but there were at least 5 waitstaff just standing around. The only positive was the dessert, which happened to be really good. Also, if you are wondering, we didn't receive it for free because of a birthday. That's fine but it would have been nice.
Overall, it was a disappointment and I regret choosing this place. Maybe if you love fancy cocktails and you don't care about the food, it's more enjoyable. Reading back over the negative reviews, my guess is that the owner's response to this one will be defensive and over explanatory, so I won't bother to read it; but hey, maybe it will help you.

Been there twice , and I love it ! The staff is very friendly , the food is delicious and the gem of the restaurant is Evie .

The HC Kitchen and Bar hit it out of the park! After a long day of travel, I stopped by to grab a bite to eat and was amazed by the delicious menu. The mushrooms on toast was a fantastic starter and the vegetable pasta was absolutely amazing.
If you are looking for a upscale meal in Cashiers, I'd highly recommend this place.
P.S. Don't forget to give their cocktail menu a look, they have some great options.

Evie made the entire meal perfect from the very first dining experience to the last. Entire staff welcoming, delightful and helpful.

This restaurant has cozy tastefully done dining room. After four visits the food is constantly terrific. The service is fast, attentive and friendly. We love this place and highly recommend it. Enjoy’
