I just attended an event catered by Bouquet Garni. The variety of French and Senegalese dishes was amazing and everything was delicious! Great mafe and yassa and the best bissap juice since my days in Dakar. Most of the guests had never tasted these dishes and they happily cleaned their plates and went back for seconds and thirds! I will be going to Chapel Hill to visit!

Finally there's a reason to go back to Blue Dogwood. I've been to Bouquet Garni a number of times already, and I plan to keep it in regular rotation. It's best to call ahead, there's the number on the website and another number on the sign when you go there (photo attached) -- either works. If nobody picks up (sometimes it's just a one-man show) I leave a message and get a call right back.My favorite item on the menu is the curry chicken salad, which is also available as a sandwich, but you can't go wrong with the maffe or yassa. I've also done the Sunday brunch and tried some of the soups, juices, and dessert items as well. All good stuff. Git some!

I got the chicken yassa here and it was absolutely amazing. The shop owner was very kind and gave me a free drink and a fruit tart for the food taking a little longer. The fruit tart is delicious and so cute, this is one of the places I’ve been! Highly recommend if I could give it more stars I would and I will definitely be back.

I had a wonderful salmon dish and delicious Bissap (hibiscus drink) at this restaurant! I will definitely go again!

Very tasty food. The location is in a food court at the back of the parking lot and you will miss it from Franklin Street if you don't know it's there. We had the chicken yassa and tilapia. Both dishes were flavorful and delicious. There are also vegetarian soups which were hearty and did not miss having meat. The juices are the owner's twist on traditional Senegalese juices and are worth stopping to buy on their own. I have no idea if the dishes are authentic, but we really enjoyed the food and talking with the owner. He also sells at the Duhram Farmer's Market.

Wonderful authentic Senegalese food, lovingly prepared by Mr. Ndiaye, the welcoming owner and chef. I ordered the yassa chicken, lamb Jollof rice, collard greens (cooked in a style also associated with Bahia, Brazil); pastels (a savory meat filled samosa/empanada). Sweet plantains and cabbage cooked with carrots and sweet potatoes were the sides that came with my main courses. The portions could easily feed two people, perhaps three, and everything was delicious. There is a large selection of natural juices, I had the Bissap (hibiscus juice), which one finds everywhere in Senegal and is great with every item I tasted. The prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return within the next week.

It is easy to miss this place, hidden away in the Blue Dogwood Market. But it's very much worth the effort to find it. You don't get the opportunity to sample Senegalese food very often, and every dish at this restaurant sounds fantastic. There were only two of us, but we ordered three meals because the food is just that great! We ordered the chicken with lemon and onion sauce, chicken with peanut sauce, and curry chicken sandwich. My husband preferred the chicken with peanut sauce but I really liked the lemon onion chicken. The very nice owner gave us a free samosa. The price, for what amounts to four meals with two drinks, with tip, was fifty dollars, so also a terrific value.

Hands down the best food I’ve had in a long time. The owner is a very humble, helpful, and kind man. Must try for anyone in Chapel Hill. The soup is especially delicious!

I LOVE every dish from the Chicken Yassa, Senegalese Maffe, Appetizers, and Fresh Squeezed Juice, This is some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted. The incredible depth of flavor shows how much love and care is put into preparing these dishes. You will not want to miss this incredible gem!!! This is a small local family business and they are the nicest and sweetest people, who provide the best possible customer service.

Really delicious food. Tried the Yassa and maffe today, both of which were very flavorful. The maffe was my favorite, so hearty on a cold winter day. Both were served with rice that was nicely done and plantains that complimented the meal. Chef was so pleasant and friendly as well. We will be back.
