My boyfriend and I have had 2 great experiences here. To me, Saturday mornings are perfect for their blueberry pancakes with a side of really high-quality bacon. It's so good and the only thing I've gotten. The first time we went, he got the shrimp and grits, which was really good. The grit cake is a nice touch and probably keeps them from having to make a pot of grits. Cheers for efficiency. The second time we went, he got the New Orleans egg souffle (I can't remember the exact name). He said it was bland but still pretty solid. One star off because our first visit was riddled with slow service and the bland dish on the second visit. The drinks were solid, the coffee was hot, and we hope to be back again and again.

I ordered a vegetable omelet. The omelet was pale and flavorless. The omelet was flat, had no flavor, and looked like it was plastic. It was the worsomelet I ever had. The saying continues to be true, "Flair is less than fair." The restaurant is attractive and the service is good, but the food is "less than fair!"

Disappointing meal for two couples. Not a disaster but not worth the prices. Took three tries selecting a wine from the wine list that they actually had. Not a great list anyway. How difficult is it to put a stick-on red dot by selections not available (they admitted that they had none of the organic wines listed, about a dozen purported selections). Service was very uneven. Lots of food but not particularly well prepared. I had a chicken Milanese but the batter was overdone to a very dark brown/black. It had the salad greens and cherry tomatoes that typically accompany fried meat cutlets Milanese, but it was served on gnocchi that were very dense and with a heavy cream pesto. Beet salad was good. Fried calamari was good and generous portion. Main courses were unimpressive. The manicotti dishes were mediocre and lacking in flavor. If you can be patient and want a lot of so-so food to fill up - this could be the place for you. I would admit we all four are lovers of good food and cook very well at home. We were there on a Saturday night after a UNC home basketball game, so most of the better Chapel Hill restaurants were full. Flair was the only upscale restaurant in the area that had reservations available. That might have been a clue we should have considered.

Had dinner for a birthday celebration in the private dinning room. Food, service and ambiance were exceptional. We requested a bottle of champagne for before dinner toasting; everything including chilled champagne and flutes were set up when we arrived and our server was standing by to pour and serve it. The celebration exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to Flair and staff.
Excellent service. Consistently delicious and diverse menu. Highly recommend for a wonderful casual evening out. Optional bar seating.
