Food is great. However, the restaurant is literally never open. The hours are so slim and they are closed all summer. I give up! Tried going 5 different times

The other day, I walked 2 miles up hill both ways to come here and grab a hot dog. Imagine my shock and heartbreak when I found out that it was closed for the summer ? these hotdogs were truly life changing and if u know me u know I’m a hot dog connoisseur. Don’t let the pictures fool ya, they don’t call it trolly stop hot dogs for nothing I’ll tell u that much

This place is a gem! They pack so much flavor and juice ness into their food. The gluten free buns are the perfect texture, soft with a small crunch that is so scrumdiddly with the hot dog…. Their cheese fries are also so dreamy and somehow fresh tasting… the fries are never soggy! And the prices are amazing! U can’t find a better value meal on Franklin! Plus they have maple view ice cream, so forget about ben n Jerry’s!

The food was good for the price. They were pretty cheap, especially for a place that's on Franklin Street in chapel Hill. The fries and the onion rings were to die for. Especially the fries. And the gentlemen working behind the counter were incredibly personable and we're very friendly to me and my daughter. My daughter raves about their burgers.Kid-friendliness: They spoke to my daughter with respect and kindness.

The onion rings were delicious. The hot dog was okay. Wish it had been cooked differently. It was like a plain boiled hotdog. Thank God for the chili and slaw that went with it.

Me and my friends went to go eat there as we had never eaten there before and it was so good! The food is really fresh and the guy working named Jeff was super nice and patient will definitely be back again!??

This was an unplanned stop and my husband and I were quite surprised. Great people, good "home made" style burgers and hot dogs. Great decor. Saved what could have been a bad day due to Blues on Franklin's horrible business.

Next up on my Chapel Hill / Franklin St FOOD TOUR is trolly Stop Hot Dogs. Cool place. Love the decor. All the way in the back is an entrance to the bar. I got the Mexican Hot Dog. It comes with bacon l, melted cheese, spicy mustard, tomatoes , salsa , jalapeños. A lot going on but pretty good. Next up I had the All Beef Chicago dog. Not the best Chicago dog I've had but decent. Was missing the celery salt and hot pepper. That would have put it over the top. The fries where delicious. Super crispy and great flavor. I'll be back to give a couple more of the signature dogs a try. (Accidentally deleted the pictures I took. ‍)

Staff was amazingly sweet and courteous, hot dogs are good and great value for Franklin St. I usually get the Tar Heel dogs; BLTs are great too.
