204 North Kitchen & Cocktails

I hate to give bad reviews, but 204 North my experience was not good.

I arrived first out of my large group to find out no reservation was under the name that I was giving. The person who made the reservation quickly came after me. Luckily, there was no one else there and they were able to push some tables together for us.

Service was slow. It took a while for orders to be taken and eventually be received. It saddens me to look at previous reviews and see a lot of cold food mentioned, and it is still an issue years later.

Most of the table's food came out cold and/or with missing items. A friend and I were splitting the veggie omelet and biscuits and gravy. The veggie omelet, which was mostly just egg and a tiny bit of veggies (mostly tomatoes hardly any onions or mushrooms), was missing cheese and was not warm. It's like it had been sitting out for a long time. The biscuits and gravy were worse. It was a biscuit with cold gravy, as if they put the gravy that had been in the fridge in a pan and it had not warmed up yet.

Kindly, they offered to remake both. However, after spending awhile waiting, we did not have time to wait for a new omelet as we had a show to go to, but decided to take up the offer on the new biscuits and gravy. It was not much better, maybe a hint of warmth this time. The server came by and asked how it was, and we told her it was not any better. She apologized and said she would inform the manager. We had no manager come by to inform them of our experience.

While they took the omelet off the bill after we requested it, they really should have taken others off the bill - the biscuits and gravy, or the person who ordered the french toast that did not come with anything on it - just presented as bread to the table, which is not how it is supposed to come, and she had to wait awhile for the toppings to be received.

For what is supposed to be a nice restaurant in Uptown, it was anything but, and I don't know how I would be back or ever recommend this place, especially if an issue continues to be an issue.

The food was okay, I didn’t know they do not allow substitutions so that was a downer for me and my husband. We ordered the eggrolls which were a hit and I wouldn’t have expected them to taste that good. The only downfall is whomever is working in the kitchen is very heavy on the seasoning. This was my second visit to this restaurant and our main fried dish was extremely salty or should I say heavenly seasoned. The restaurant looks nice inside and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere was nice too. The pricing of the drinks and food are a bit overrated but to each is own I guess.

204 North Kitchen & Cocktails hosted a work event in their semi-private space upstairs and it was fantastic! There were 16 of us. The service was amazing, the food outstanding. O'Nerian was a great waiter and took very good care of us. We will definitely go back.

The host Artisan started off our night wonderfully! We met Kate at the bar and she made me the best espresso martini. The manager omar is awesome. Best experience , will be back for more !

First time dining here, very underwhelming. Group of 10 with a 7:30 showtime to make, we arrived at 6. Food hit the table in waves starting at 7:10. We had to bolt it down and run, and four of the ten would have sent theirs back had we had the time. Mussels were especially awful- overcooked and like rubber. Not the worst, but at $25-35 an entree, I expect (and can easily find) better.

I enjoyed the crab cakes. My husband had a cobbler salad and wings. He said the wings didn’t have the flavor described on the menu (pineapple/jalapeño) so he switched it for parmesan wings but that one was fried with dry rub that was overly salty.

We did enjoy our cocktails. Overall it was a decent experience. The host and waitress was nice.

We held a rehearsal dinner here on May 14. Claudia and staff were so amazing! The space, food, atmosphere, and cocktails were perfection! Thank you all for an amazing night!!

Jaxxson is an incredibly talented mixologist — she made me a variation of one of her own cocktails that she calls the Velvet Rope — it was excellent, and she was fabulous. I will definitely be going back.

Don’t order the filet. They’re trying to pass off a thick sirloin for a filet or that was just a really tough filet (you know for a filet). Either way don’t get it. Service was good. The drinks were good.

Came in a whim, here in Charlotte for work. Cocktails were amazing!!! Come see Helene and Jackson. They know their stuff. Good good as well. Atmosphere was great! Felt like I was in a Manhattan upscale speakeasy. Vibes music and very friendly staff all around. I’ll be back for sure

Cia and Kate made my mother’s Mother’s Day beyond exceptional with excellent customer service! We will be back as a family and I throughly enjoyed my experience.
