Tried a latte with the foxy brown syrup and it was really good! A perfect balance of sweetness, not overly bitter which paired perfectly with whole milk. The warm croissant was ok. The coffee however was fantastic.

Vibes are unmatched, feels like home. Super cozy, amazing staff, amazing feel of the place. It’s like traveling back in time in Black America. Great spot to meet and have coffee, get some work done, or just take it all in. Wouldn’t recommend for huge parties, but a friend group of 2-3 would fit comfortably in most spaces.

She was the nicest barista I’ve ever met, her shop was so well decorated and interesting I could stay there for hours. Her collection of important pieces of history, as well as her amazing coffee made my day. I would highly recommend for others to support her business.

When you enter archive your immersed into black culture from Books pictures, paintings, music and table games. It’s us. There’s table to sit indoors and outdoors to work or enjoy your drink and/or pastry. I enjoyed surfing through the vinyl collection where I went over my budget the experience was worth it. Such as incredible establishment. The staff didnt invite or greet you when entering. ‘welcome to Archive. Thanks for stopping in’ that would be nice, making the customers feel welcomed preparing them for an experience giving some personality and character.

Archive is an exceptionally unique coffee shop that is deeply rooted in its location, with the space serving as a direct reflection of the owner and the direction in which the neighborhood is evolving. The atmosphere is always vibrant, filled with art and diverse conversations from a wide range of people. If you're looking to experience a Black-owned, minority female-run coffee shop by a Charlotte, North Carolina native, this is one you should definitely visit.

I’ve been popping into Coffee Shops to work during my time here and this has been my favorite by far. Love all of the vintage magazines, the book selections and the art work! The owner was super chill and the latte was delicious. Got my work done and I enjoyed the music selection in the background. I definitely will be back either before I leave town or the next time for sure!
