Ok, I understand it is super difficult to pick when you come into Optimist Hall. I have had many of these spots, and they are yummy. Today Bao and Broth was amazing!! I had the seasonal special Ramen of Pork belly and kimchi. Oh yeah! I'll have to come back for a couple buns. Not today though. I am stuffed. Oh yeah, they have lychee tea too!! It is super awesome. I love lychee! Worth the visit! Free parking for 90 minutes as well, so a spot to chill as well.

Amazing ramen and the OG pork bun was the best I’ve had in Charlotte! Quick service and the drinks were good as well. Got the lychee tea and it was great

A huge thank you to the kind gentleman working the front counter on Oct 25th. He is a service professional and made my experience today next level. Thank you for your kindness and help with all my random take out bags and fresh lychee tea. The food here is always consistent and delicious and our constant go to. Today’s service only encourages us to continue frequenting their stand!

Cute little place in a cool little food and shopping center. Nice portions on the bao and ramen. The miso broth was superb!

You have the worst people working in the front, and older male that doesn’t care about your questions, the ramen was plain and not worth your money! First and last time! The whole place Optimistically place is only for people to get social life not to eat!

was craving some bao buns and asked my boyfriend to go pick them up for me. I admit he did get there about 12-10 minutes from closing but the fried chicken in my bao bun literally tasted like it was sitting for hours, it was so hard I couldn’t even finish them and I purchased 2 of them. I also bought 2 of the bbq jackfruit buns because those were my favorite buns when I first tried this place & they did not taste the same at all.. the bbq sauce is off and tastes watery? either we came on the wrong day or this place has gone down hill regardless it was a waste of over $20 and i most likely will not be returning.
I am pleased I agreed to choose the recommended chilled ramen bowl along with the jack fruit bao buns. The ramen was not ice cold but a chilled temperature perfect for summer. The flavors were robust. The bao buns were also layered with flavors and various textures to tantalize the palate. To top off the meal I had the lychee lemonade. I thoroughly enjoyed these selections and can't wait to have them again. I recommend Bao and Broth when visiting Optimist Hall.

Multiple options such as ramen and miso. I got the vegan miso, with noodles, corn, spring onions, bamboo and tofu. Food came out really quickly and was delicious. Cheap, cost around $13 dollars for a large bowl. Has lots of seating and a great vibe Updated from previous review on 2025-06-20

The miso chicken is incredible. It’s a huge portion so expect to be full. The broth alone you could just sip on its own. Highly suggest trying this place next time you visit Optimist Hall! 😎👍
Australian man at the counter was extremely rude, mind you I gave them a 7 dollar tip and he scolded me after I picked up the food. 0/10 service would give lower.
Took a few bao buns which were pretty good. The falafel one was pretty special. First time I see a falafel bao bun.
I ordered the chicken miso the 1st time I came here and I kid you not it was half soggy skin & half chicken (which was meh). The 2nd time I visited the establishment I ordered w/o the skin, to which they fulfilled. Yesterday I came to the establishment they lied to me, saying they couldn’t remove the skin b/c it was “cooked” in the ramen (they use the same broth for the vegan tofu miso plus the broth and toppings are made & packaged separately). Only good thing they sell are the drinks but don’t waste $17/18 on the chicken miso!!!
