What started out as a great birthday dinner for me ended horribly. My wife booked a reservation for 6 to celebrate my birthday with some of our friends. None of us had ever been here but it looked nice on social media so we went. Drinks and appetizers were GREAT and our waiter was also. Our entrees were HORRIBLE. All 5 entrees that were ordered were NOT edible. We informed our waiter that 3 of the entrees that contained scallops and risotto smelled HORRIBLE as if the seafood was bad and the other 2 short rib entrees couldn’t even be cut with a steak knife! As we all know, short ribs, braised or not should be VERY tender and not need a knife at all. The waiter brings out the Manager and upon reaching our table, she says, “Hello, I was told you’re having some issues and I want you to know that unfortunately, we don’t offer refunds.” Huh?? WHO asked for a refund? We were immediately insulted and taken aback as there was no apology or mention of exchange. My wife begins to speak with her and tells her that we never intended to ask for a refund, we’d like to exchange these entrees for items that we feel are safe to consume. The manager states that their policy also food not honor exchanges and we will have to pay for all 5 entrees that we did NOT eat on top of anything additional we’d like to order. The Manager had an absolutely DISGUSTING attitude and tone of condescension. I’m assuming she thought bc we’re Black we were going to ask for a refund?? After about 10 mins of my wife attempting to understand why we couldn’t exchange our items and the Manager taking all of the food to the back to have the Chef taste it himself, the Manager states that the short run was indeed way too tough and agreed to comp out 1 short rib meal but not the other AND states that the smell on the seafood is a cheese they use. Let’s be clear, everyone at the table was a business owner and 4 of us are food truck/restaurant owners-we KNOW when food is bad! At this point, we decide to ask for our checks and leave bc the manager has everyone livid! There were 3 separate checks. We saw ALL checks get paid and we even left a nice tip for the waiter! About 30 mins later, my wife received a phone call from a Sgt with Charlotte police stating the restaurant wants to press charges as one of the checks did not cover the full bill. (I found out that one from our party decided they weren’t paying for the entree they didn’t eat but they paid for everything else on their bill). My wife informed the officer of exactly what occurred and he stated, “How can they try to force you to pay for a meal that you didn’t consume?” He then wished us a good night and apologized for bothering us. Even with the HORRIBLE response from Management, we STILL paid for food that we did NOT eat bc we COULDN’T…The food was SPOILED. The way that this was handled was COMPLETELY unprofessional and I will NEVER visit this establishment again OR recommend them.

Awful experience! The waiter was AMAZING! Everything else was unacceptable! 5 out of 6 of my party sent the food back due to it smelling so rancit we couldn't eat it. The manager came out with the worse attitude and told us we could not order a replacement entree without paying for the food NONE OF US ATE! She dismissive and extremely unprofessional.

Don't play with me! I paid for my food and have the receipt! You need to find the person who didn't! Get a better business model and you won't have people running out and not paying. Lie on me again and you will be hearing from lawyers!

You had all the time in the world to have a conversation WHILE WE WERE THERE! Yet your manager chose to be rude and disrespectful! Go run your credit card invoices and you will the payment from me. Try again!

this places atmosphere was absolutely delightful and thoroughly enjoyable. i had such a great long conversation with the hostesses liz and jane, they were so kind to take the time to ask how everything was and have a nice conversation with us. it makes it such a better experience when the staff actually takes the time to chat with customers. overall great experience!!

You should have trouble getting a seat here. It's places like this that deserve your patronage. Short and simple... fantastic all around - give it a go while it's easy to get a table.

Surely the best new place to try and return to weekly great for friends and family and even a romantic night but the best experience is with Cam. The employee take pride in their work and it shows so do something special for yourself or loved ones and get lost in an amazing atmosphere.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the incorrect closing hours listed on your social media. It states that you close after 12 PM, and we traveled from another state to visit, only to find the location closed.

Please update your hours to reflect the actual closing time to avoid wasting people's time.

It was my friend's birthday, so we decided to go here. We've never been here before. The waitress, we had, sold us on what drinks to purchase as well as food. The drinks were expensive for the size, but no worries, we ordered multiple of them because they were good. No issue! We were torn between which food to get, so she advised us to get both the tomahawk porkchop & short rib. Let me tell you. The short rib was nothing but fat. Imagine purchasing a roast from the store and it's covered in fat. The porkchop was raw! Who eat raw pork? I can understand beef, but porkchops. I'm not the one to send my food back to the kitchen, so we asked them to return the food and remove it. Oh no, they couldn't. They gave us half off and still took the food. You should know your customers in order to better serve the population first off. Secondly, she should have told us up front about the fatty short rib and not afterwards, which cost $44. Nonetheless, we won't be coming back nor would we recommend this place.

I got the rigatoni Bolognesse it taste like can bland ravioli for $27 . Being a younger African-American woman ; i felt targeted as soon as i walked in the door . The service was awful and both of the waiters were extremely rude . I would not recommend this place to anybody .The setup is beautiful. Please do not waste your money here or come here not worth it ! All the staff knows the food get sent back here , so they created a rule where you can’t send the food back

Thoroughly enjoyed the roaring 20's Speak Easy vibe. Bring your flashlight, cause it's a bit dark?. But that's part of the feel. Be sure to leave room for the La Bomba desert!

Me and my wifey had so much fun!! And we also loved the music. The setup was so amazing Omg we will definitely be eating here!! It's was such a romantic experience and peaceful atmosphere.

Very quiet evening. Not many guest, the server took forever to even approach the table to take our drink/appetizer order. Hostess placed hospitality when we walked in. His statement was “do you have reservations” no hi or hello...just straight to the point, dry and rude. The food was ok. Was hoping for a better experience

This place as a whole is severely overrated. The ambiance is decent but the cleanliness to me was subpar. I had a dinner reservation for 7pm and still had to wait 7 minutes to be seated. Keep in mind the restaurant was practically empty at the time. Our server was nice, she did a good job in my opinion and I tipped her appropriately. The food was bland to me and overall the menu leaves a lot to be desired. There needs to be more on the menu. Overall, this spot is overpriced and overhyped in my opinion.
