Dom was extremely friendly and helpful!! She didn’t miss a beat. Had everything come out in a timely manner and gave perfect service. Haven’t been to cheddars in years.. I’ll say there are slight menu changes, and the food quality has definitely gone up.

I visited this particular Cheddar’s location today and they exceeded my expectations. We were seated immediately. The hostess and waitress were very pleasant and attentive. The food was fresh, was plated well, and the bartender was top tier as well.

Excellent customer service! Shout out to Dominique! She was so nice and friendly and acted like she was our best friend from the moment of serving me and a friend to when we left. This woman deserves a raise and promotion. I’d come back just to see her! Ask for Dominque if you come here she’s awesome! The food is great too.

We ate at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen (Charlotte University area) two nights in a row. Friday night we dined in. We left feeling like we’d had a decent meal at a good value, and since we were staying next door at the Hyatt, the convenience was a plus.
Saturday night was a completely different experience. We had been at an all-day event, so we decided to order takeout and bring it back to our room. I called in the order at 5:30 and received a text with instructions to park in the designated spots and wait for someone to bring the food out at 6:00.
We arrived at 5:50 and waited in the car for an hour with no further communication. At 6:50 I went in through the side door where the to-go orders are handled. There were several people waiting, but no employee anywhere in sight. I stood there another ten minutes, chatting with a lady who told me she had also been waiting outside for 45 minutes.
When I was still unable to get anyone’s attention after ten minutes, I went back to the car to get my daughter. I told her we’d just dine inside, thinking our food had to be ready by then. This time we went to the front entrance.
When I walked in, there was a host and another man with an iPad who I assumed was the manager. I explained how long we had been waiting and that we would like to eat inside. He asked for my name, and the other young man said “follow me.” I thought he was taking us to a table since I had just said we wanted to dine in. Instead, he led us to a bench and walked away.
While we were waiting, another employee came out from the to-go area and asked if we were there for pick-up. I said yes, but that we now wanted to dine in. I gave him my name and he brought out a bag. I repeated that we wanted to sit down and eat since we had already waited so long. He told me I would need to go back to the front and speak with them to get a table.
At that point, we gave up. We took the food back to our hotel and ate in the lobby. The food was cold. The chicken tasted like it would have been good if we had gotten it 30 minutes earlier, and the potato was too undercooked to eat.
What bothered me most was not just the long wait or the cold food. It was the complete lack of communication and that no one, not a single employee ever apologized or acknowledged the situation. I have worked in restaurants and I know things go wrong, especially on busy nights, but the absence of even a simple apology or an attempt to make things right was really the nail in the coffin.
For context, I’ve written more than 50 Google reviews, and I believe this is the first negative one I’ve ever written.
