I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the bulgogi sauce, served with mac & cheese, a deviled egg, and a biscuit—and let me tell you, the fried chicken was chef’s kiss. Tender, flavorful, and somehow still crispy the next day after I packed it to go. The mac & cheese was a little underwhelming for me—creamy but could’ve used a bit more soul or seasoning. That said, the deviled egg was the perfect Southern touch, and the biscuit was warm, fluffy, and comforting.
The place itself feels like a cozy blend of your grandma’s kitchen and a cool, slightly gritty charm that fits right into the Midwood vibe. Heads-up: there’s a 3% credit card charge, which feels a little unnecessary these days, but aside from that, the food hit the spot and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving some Southern comfort with character.

The only thing that surpassed the incredible ambience and first class service at Dish was the impeccable cuisine. You definitely want to eat here!
It was a neat restaurant. The staff was really nice. The menu sounded really good. We ordered off the brunch menu, and the order was wrong. That isn't really the issue because everyone makes mistakes, we understand that for sure. The food taste was there, but it didn't come out as advertised in so far as what was supposed to be on it even though it was the wrong menu item. The food was not hot either. Again, everyone makes mistakes, so we are going to give it another shot. I feel like maybe they may have been overwhelmed or short-handed in the kitchen. I'm looking forward to trying again and having a little better experience the next time around.

Just moved to CLT recently and was checking out the walkable neighborhoods when me and my partner found this little treasure in the Midwood Plaza. Super neat place! Homey dining area and a Nice bar area with patio seating! We had the BLT and Cajun Meatloaf .. both great choices!! Guy Fieri featured this place on Diners, Drive-ins and dives! Will definitely be back again
We have been coming to Dish for years and are so disappointed in how much the quality of the food has decreased. It used to be one of our favorite places in Charlotte but after our most recent visit we won’t be going back. The chicken and dumplings had no taste whatsoever. I am never one to add salt to food at restaurants but I couldn’t eat it without adding some sort of seasoning. The Mac and cheese was also very plain.
