A friend of my referred me to Edible Art Cakes after she got her boyfriend’s cake from them. Truly a masterpiece of a cake. I decided to go with them for my husband’s graduation cake and due to life, had to delay my order. They have been very understanding and great communicators and I know the cake is going to be wonderful.

The artwork on the cakes is fantastic! I bought a Peppa Pig cake, and as you can see in the pictures, it looks amazing. The taste is the only thing keeping this review from five stars. I paid around $120 for the cake, and the taste was average. I have had better-tasting cakes at Publix for a fraction of the cost. You are paying for the artwork. Again, the artwork is top-notch!

This cake is not worth it. It’s dry, and excessively sweet, making it an unenjoyable experience. Given its high price for such a small size, I would strongly advise against purchasing it for a birthday or special occasion. However, while it may not be the best cake out there, it does provide a level of consistency; you know exactly what you’re getting, and you won’t be disappointed if you're simply looking for a decent cake for an occasion.

As yummy as the cake tastes, the poor customer service far outweighs that positive comment. The staff is not friendly nor accommodating and they let you know and make you feel like they can't be bothered. Very surprising, considering how expensive these cakes are. I chalked up the first order to someone having a bad day; however, it became apparent that is just the way they do business. Myself and my family will not ever do business there again. There are plenty of other delicious bakeries and cake shops that bend over backwards to make you feel like a quality customer and their service is far superior! I DO NOT recommend them!

I have ordered two large custom cakes twice from this shop! Excellent customer service and the owner Jackie is super easy to work with. Everyone loved the cake designs and the taste of both cakes. I have ordered custom cakes in the past from other shops over the years in Charlotte and this cake shop is far by the best!
I loved the design of my cake that I have gotten recently on Tuesday, it matched the picture that I shown and I loved how they pay attention to the detail I gotten a marble cake for a friend’s birthday I was hoping that this cake will taste good but it was horrible it did not taste like marble cake the icing did taste old the smell also wasn’t pleasant at all it didn’t taste like buttercream at all no one at the party enjoyed the cake which I was really bummed out about the entire cake was wasted and it really upset me that I spent $80 for the cake to taste like this I feel as if it’s focused solely on presentation rather than what the cake tastes like sad that it went out like this and it’s my first time trying this bakery shop I wish I could get my $80 back :(

I paid over $600 for a 50th birthday cake for 40 people. I’m not a cake expert but I felt the cake was ‘small’ and most of the cake was the box and not the other way around.
The detailing was exceptional on the cake. Just small.
I was also upset of being asked to pay a tip on top of what I paid. Tip fatigue is real when you deal with small businesses. They charge top dollar compared to the bigger competitors AND they ask for a tip on top.
Cake wasn’t good enough to pay that kind of money again and I certainly wouldn’t tip on top of $600 + 3 hours driving + $100 in fuel.
Google needs to allow more nuance. They weren’t 4 stars but certainly not 5.
You can read their reply below. You can still hear their entitlement for a tip. We worked hard, soent lots of time on your cake. So what? I paid $600 for flour, water and sugar.
Yeah, you can’t argue with business owners who don’t actually want to pay their stay properl. You just don’t return.

I did store the cake at room temperature as instructed. The cake itself was very dry. I realized it immediately when I tried a piece myself at the store and also couldn’t help but notice that none of my guests finished their pieces and were choking on it.
I am disappointed. It was a rather expensive cake that I think I could have actually done better myself or picked up from a grocery store. No part of the cake met my expectation of a professional bakers’ finished product. I simply will not be going back!
