Had a wonderful experience with the folks at Emmy Squared tonight, their staff is incredible and the food is unreal. Thank you Emmy Squared!!
In this area with so many choices- this is a winner!!! I'm from Detroit and they have great Detroit (thick/crust) pizza at a reasonable price served by wonderful people in a really great space. It's worth looking for and it's also way bigger inside so nice place to hang and watch people. Lots of parking in back or around either corner- check it out!
We have been to this location a handful of times. This past experience was the best yet! Our server, Emily was very attentive and went above and beyond to assure that our pizza and salad was dairy free!! We got the MVP with vegan cheese, no vodka sauce and added some extra toppings. The Sesame seed crust is sooo delicious! Definitely check this place out and request Emily for an exceptional experience!!
Excellent food and customer service.
I recommend the Miranda pizza, the ricotta appears by surprise while you’re eating it.
Awesome pizza
Service was great. Food was OK. The restaurant smelled of mold. So overall I probably won’t go there anytime soon.
We had a reservation for 6:45. Another couple came in after us. After a long wait, that couple were seated after obviously complaining to the host. We waited almost an hour with nothing except delays. At one point, a server asked us what we would like to drink “on the house” — because of the delay. After receiving our drink order, she studiously avoided eye contact the rest of the night. When I asked about the delay, the host acted like I was bothering him and told me they were backed up and seating people who came before us. It's one thing to make us wait, it is something totally different to waste our time and act like we are a nuisance. There are too many options in town to bother with this place again. Too bad the system will not allow me to leave zero stars.
A few friends and I wanted to go out, and we had been to this Emmy Squared location before and had an amazing experience. This time we made a reservation because it was Valentine's night and when we arrived we were seated on-time. Everything that followed was less than satisfactory. 45 minutes after ordering, we were told our pizzas were on the way, but had not even received our appetizer. 20 minutes later, the appetizer arrived but no pizzas. The pizzas eventually arrived, and it was room temperature at best, it seemed that had been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. It did appear that the restaurant was short staffed and swamped with a flurry of walk in customers and take-out orders. No explanation for the delay or concern for our overall experience was given. I'm a pretty reasonable guy and understand places get busy, especially during a holiday, but no one seemed to care or have a sense of urgency about the situation. But a 10/10 on the Butternut Squash and Brussel Sprouts appetizer, make it a larger portion and serve it as a meal... it is delicious!
We enjoyed our meal! There was an issue with one of the appetizers (came out late) but the waitress graciously took it off the bill).
Came for my wife's birthday with 13 people. Staff quickly accommodated us and were very good at dividing up bills for the various attendees. The pizza is always amazing and for those who had never been were singing their praises abt the pizza. This coupled with their “intrusive thought” old-fashioned made it a great choice! Easy, low-key, and great deep dish style pizza.

This was our first time to Emmy squared and we had a blast. Our server recommended the Colony, and we got a regular and split between two of us. Thoroughly enjoyed. Love the ezzo pepperoni, pickled Jalapeno and honey in this one. What a combo. Real Caesar salad with real anchovies in the dressing. We want to try the burger when we go back. Love the location. We ate right before a show at Petra's.
Great service. It was my first time here, and was early dinner (5:30 pm) during the week. So it was quiet & not too many guests present. Love the decor! Sat in bar area. MVP pizza was great!! I'll be back !
Always enjoyed and a go to place for Detroit style pizza...usually go to the southend location. The service was excellent. She was attentive and responsive. The food is consistently good. The only reason for not giving the full stars is the pizza was cold. It seemed as if it was sitting for a while as the food pretty much all came at the time. Had salad and meatballs as well. Thx
Edit- unfortunately the pitcher is no longer the deal it used to be. Only two drinks out of the pitcher now, and based on my question about this to the manager, it seems that change is on purpose as she acted like I was insane that for suggesting one could possibly get more than two drinks out of a pitcher and insisted everything is measured out….measured out to be $6 more than the individual version of the drinks are (how this makes sense is beyond me). Unfortunate, but good to know so we can do pickup instead of dining in and have drinks at home. Pizza is still delicious!
10/10 experience! This is the best pizza we have had in CLT and had great service from Carter. Highly recommend the pitcher of skinny margs too for yielding 3 drinks each, essentially for the price of two drinks. This place should be rated WAY higher than it is. Will return as soon as possible 🙏🏼

This place serves the best Detroit-style pizza I’ve ever eaten, period. The Colony Pizza is by far the standout item on the menu, but honestly, everything here is amazing. The mozzarella sticks are a must-try—perfectly seasoned and delicious, even for someone like me who isn’t big on deep-fried food. If you’re ever in the area, you absolutely have to stop by!
