Unusual experience today at Famous Toastry University City. Arrived at 7:50am. Saw where they were short staffed. Got seated around 8am. Order taken around 8:10am. Order the breakfast sandwich. 8:35am, still no sandwich. Asked my waitress to cancel my order & give me the check for my coffee & water that was never refilled while I waited. I received that check within seconds of my request. No apology for poor or lack of service. Very disappointing experience & the lack of care will definitely give me 2nd thoughts of having breakfast there again.

For ALL THE POTATOE LOVERS... I love the potatoes that have here. The taste and flavor are totally different from the other locations. I just request for them to be cooked a little longer ? The food is also great. I recommend that if you're with a large party, ask for your food to come out as it's done. That's if you don't want any cold food. I think the water view is so serene. Especially if you get a spot in the litter sun-room. (Not sure if that's what they call it, but I'm calling it that ??) My waitress(Briana) wasn't on point. She actually went to another table to greet them as soon as they came in before me. They came in about 8-10 minutes after meIt was only one of me. I forgot to order eggs (my fault) and had ordered them after my meal arrived. She put my order in but returned to my table after I was over half way through my meal to ask, "They haven't brought your eggs out yet?" I'm thinking Ummm no, i thought you were my server ? Well anywho, I give her grace since u should have had my complete order ready at jump ? Be mindful you have to walk up to the bar to lay your tab. I guess if you sit at the high tables, you get special privilege & they will take your payment for you. I saw them do it for a couple sitting at the high tables. I was sitting at a smaller table by the door. Overall food taste MUCH better than all of the other locations I've been. (Concord, Park Road) * Edit- just as I finished this post a young lady came & picked up my tab. I guess she was like you got to get up out of here we about to close ?*

TLDR: best gluten free waffle I've had in years!!---I randomly found this place on Google while visiting the area and decided to give it a try when I saw they had gluten friendly pancakes, waffles, AND french toast available. Most places I see only have 1 on a good day, so this was a refreshing surprise. Now 9 times out of 10, when I get gluten friendly pancakes at a restaurant, the pancakes I make at home are better by a mile (not because I am a chef, but because what is served is basic at best). The waffle here was flavorful, as opposed the syrup on chalk experience I've come to expect since dropping the gluten. Side note: they serve maple syrup instead of the fake stuff too...another pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be making my way back to the chain to get another and try the other two! Service was also fast and attentive, food came out hot, etc. 10s across the board ????Dietary restrictions: Enjoyed gluten friendly options

The food is medicore, the coffee is weak. But where I was lost was with the "pancake". I didn't know you could mess it up but it was tasteless as well as shapeless. I was sooo disappointed.

The wait time was 45 minutes. When we were able to be seated, the man with the locks greeted us and took our order with our drinks. 40 minutes later… we were still waiting for our food and no server checked on us once during that time. My mom got up from her seat to see what was taking long and they went to check on the order. He comes up asking if we still wanted to stay or do take out? I asked if the order was put in and he said he wasn’t sure… even though he took our order and it’s his job to ring it in.. got up and left. Complete waste of everyone’s time as we were there for almost 2 hours.

So, last Saturday, I treated my bonus mom to breakfast. When we walked in, they already had a wait in the front entrance. So, I made reservations for 2. It was about a 22 min wait. We decided to stay in the area and go watch the ducks and the paddle boats in the lake until we were notified that our table was ready. The scene was beautiful. Even where we were seated, we had a great view of the lake and ducks. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics to show what we ordered, but she ordered the shrimp & grits with toast. I ordered flashbacks, scrambled eggs w/ sausage patties. Everything was nice size portions. It was under $40. It was a little pricey, but it was delicious. The staff was friendly and professional. I'd recommend anyone to try it for yourselves. I think you'd be pleased.

This is not my first nor last time dining at this Famous Toastery. However, I was saddened today on ordering to find out that my beloved candied bacon is no longer on the menu. This is the one constant no matter what I ordered. Whoever in corporate that made the decision to eradicate this delicacy should be evaluated! This alone will lessen my frequency (and others) to choose dining at this establishment without candied bacon. Other than that, good experience today.Parking: Usually it's a busy parking lot. You may have to walk a little because there are a lot of stores in the area.

Waiters was amazing whoever cook the omelet need to let me have they job it was horrible ?? rate from 1 to 10 it was a 1 I also had a mimosas flight that was trash I didn’t even finish it I highly recommend they be shut
