Ordered Mysore Dosa today and it was just plain Dosa with tomato chutney inside it instead of Mysore. Sambar was not good either. South Indian has been on point on two of my previous visits. Won't be going back here for Dosa's

I go here a lot. Saturdays and Sundays have extra curries. And other tasty dishes. It's delicious, be sure to try dosa night on Tuesdays.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ... Went here for lunch last week. Arrived at 1230 and there were 2 tables in the restaurant with diners. No one greeted me so i took a tablle. the buffet was almost empty. I got a few things and some naan. the chutneys were watery tasteless messes, the food from the buffet was not fresh. just an awful experience.

We went for dinner after watching a movie at Regal stonecrest as the place is near to cinemas. Felt like the people who work there are in a rush to close the store and get out from there. Food was stale and most of the items were dry and definitely " NOT COOKED FRESH ". The food was such a disaster and I felt sick after coming home. I did rate 1 as there is no negative rating available. Better choose a different place instead killing hunger eating the food that's not fresh

This is great at one thing: dosa's. Ive tried some different items on the menu, but the only thing that has stood out is the dosa. Of their selection of dosa, I recommend the Spring Roll dosa -- it is out of this world! But do not get the Malai Kofta (not an actual dumpling, but rather a pakora hiding in the sauce...super disappointing). Just stick to dosa's and you'll be fine.

Great lunch buffet for an amazing price ($7.99). So many vegetarian options, and all of them were very flavorful and spicy. Loved the lentils, aloo gobi and the fresh naan. Some items needed a little more salt but that was easily remedied. I also enjoyed the chai on the buffet. Having a nice little cup after my meal was the perfect ending. One negative: the tandoori chicken was clearly raw in the middle. Husband politely showed it to the waiter and we expected him to take the chicken off the buffet until it was checked. We were there an hour and never saw anyone look at the remainder of the tandoori chicken on the buffet.

We thought Godavari opened at five so we had some time to kill. Luckily there is a grocery store in the same strip so we spent some time getting a few things for the upcoming week. The menu listed Flying Horse and Taj Mahal for the larger beer choices but they were out of Flying Horse so I just had two Taj Mahal's. That's fine, they are both good beers. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian spicy and a garlic naan. The Manchurian could have been spicier and I would suggest a few sauces to go with the naan. Again both were still good. Of course I have to try the curry goat, as for me that's the standard by which I basically judge their take on the cuisine. I know I'm biased but it is what it is. The wife had their veggie tika and I tried her sauce. Again, could have been spicier. I think some Indian places don't think white people can really handle what they consider spicy. God I miss Tamarind. I'd like to go back and try something else. They need to step it up a bit to compete with Chaupaati down the road. Not a bad choice though if you are in the area.

Not sure if the main chef is out on vacation but last night's take away wasn't up to scratch. To be fair I've only ever ordered Poori 2x before both from here. Last nights was our third try and it lacked the same consistency and flavor than the others and was more like a soup. It also lacked a substantial amount of potatoes but I may know where those went. I also ordered a chicken vindaloo which was a bit light on chicken but heavy on the potatoes (ah - found them!). While I do love potatoes in my curries I do also love the protein! Lastly, there was no rice! Hopefully just a misstep for the evening as my previous meals there were fairly good.

The weekend buffet has eight meat dishes including goat and fish as well as 6 vegetarian dishes. They have pani puri, many chutneys, pakoda, and much more. Everything was prepared well. The flavors are wonderfully unique to each dish. Signs on a few items were marked spicy. You can always eat a dairy dish called raita to take the heat down. The lunch buffet has fewer entrees, but is only $8 and very tasty. I have been there twice and am very happy to go again. I can not wait to go to dosa night on Tuesdays. I can not understand the very bad reviews. I am sure if you point out what you don't like, the server will make corrections. He asked me twice if everything was ok. They want you to have an enjoyable experience.

Delicious and authentic food. Additionally our server was beyond exceptional, wish I could recall her name. We were there with two young kids and she was nothing but helpful, polite and patient. I Iove that they ask you the level of spicy which mine is very low so I was able to savor the food without my mouth being on fire. Highly recommend this place, we'll for sure be back.

Delicious vegetarian selections on the lunch buffet. Very helpful server guided me on spice level and sauce / chutney choices. Fresh warm Naan is included on the buffet.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars because the food is very very good. The reason I won't do that is because I ordered boneless chicken biriyani and I got chicken dum biriyani instead, which I don't like as much. I paid extra for the boneless and didn't get what I paid for. Otherwise, the food is very good and authentic South Indian cuisine, which I prefer over North Indian food.

We eat here a lot (the food is fantastic!), so it only made sense when we wanted to cater our latest party that we called Godavari to make arrangements. We were told to speak with Rani, who was super helpful and easy to work with; she arranged a delivery the night of the party which made things a lot easier for us! The food was of course, outstanding as always! Thanks again Rani!

I would have loved to have tried this place out but will never get that chance, after walking out three times due to poor sanitary scores. The 90.5 on my last attempt was the HIGHest of my visits; the other two attempts were in the 80s. I can understand and accept one bad score but to be consistently low is a sign of real problems. I know some don't really care about such things and will scoff at my emphasis on such things, but there are just too many other better options in south Charlotte that carry much lower risks of contracting salmonella.
