I don’t make a habit of coming on google reviews for negative reviews bc I think people are way more likely to take the time to write a bad experience than a good one. But I felt like some things needed to be addressed here considering a small cup of ice cream is over $6! We went to Great American cookies/marble slab creamery ( they’re 1 in the same) on a Monday evening around 8. They only had 2 employees working which I’m thinking/hoping contributed to our experience. They were very busy and needed more than just the 2 people there. The First employee came up and started to take our order. Like i literally gave him our first ice cream choice and had a question about the cones and next thing I knew he was just gone. Down at the register helping someone else. Without a word. I was so confused. A couple min later the other employee came with absolutely zero customer service skills. She was boarder line RUDE. Clearly not in the mood, but working you kind of have to be. I had to meet her with equal attitude before she slightly snapped out of it. If the ice cream was out of this world I may have forgiven it. But at least the cheesecake ice cream I had wasn’t very flavorful. Certainly not almost $7 a scoop flavorful. However I will say my daughter got this blue ice cream which was very tasty and we also got a mint ice cream that packed in a lot of yummy flavor! The place is also adorably decorated and has lots of delish unique looking bakery items so I gave 3 stars!

I never write reviews, but this was honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had all around from an establishment inCharlotte. I am very familiar with GAC and have ordered cakes from different locations many times and have never experienced anything like this. I called earlier in the afternoon to to see if this GAC location had any extra cakes remaining (b/c most locations do have a couple each day for same day orders) for me to place an order and pick up by EOD. The girl on the phone told me yes they did, and directed me to a summer themed cake design they had on their site after i mentioned i would like a beach theme. She asked when I would like to pick it up, and I responded as soon as it could be ready I could pick it up. She then told me it would be ready by 8:20. I arrived at 8:20 promptly, and proceeded to wait for 30 minutes while my dog and husband waited in the parking lot for me. I had to ask at one point for an update about 20 mins in because she never came over to apologize for the wait or give me an update. Once the cake was complete, she did not open up the cake box to let me see the finished product, but rather had it behind the counter until I paid. As soon as I finished paying she passed me the cake and walked away to help another customer. I then opened the box to see what I can honestly say was one of the most Sloppy Birthday Cakes I have ever purchased. It looked extremely rushed, multiple sides of the cake were crushed b/c the cake was to big for the box, and it looked nothing like what the design online that she directed me to. Assuming this is why she did not let me see the Cake before I purchased it and then immediately walked away. I stood there for another several minutes trying to get their attention, and no one acknowledged me. My husband was extremely frustrated because he had been sitting in the car waiting for me for 30 minutes at 8:30 at night, so I decided to leave, go home & call them, and then bring the cake back by myself if needed. When I called and asked for a manager, the same girl answered the phone since she was the "manager on duty" and I proceeded to explain to her the situation including the fact that I waited for an additional 30mins after she told me to arrive since she was not the one that made the cake. She did not apologize, but said 3 things. 1) They were busy 2) Some people do not have the same artistic ability as others & 3) She was actually the one that put the cake in the box and the cake was to big for the box so she had to crush some of the sides to make it fit. When I began to repeat what she had just said back to me and said that was completely unacceptable, and I would like for her to take my number and have the manager call me the next day since all she was doing was arguing with me....she hung up the phone on me!!!!!!! I dont think I have to tell anyone that that response ALL AROUND was completely unacceptable. First, she should have apologized several times while I was there for the wait. What if I was on the way to a birthday dinner? I never told her it had to be a certain time, and if they were busy then they should have told me a later time and that would have been fine OR let me know when I walked in that she JUST started making it and it would be another 30 mins...NONE of that happened. Second, business 101, if you sell a product, the product being purchased should be what you are selling. If you dont have people making cakes that match the designs you have online because they dont have the "artistic ability" then they should probably not be making $50 birthday cakes. That is not me being nasty, that is just fact. And finally, it was clear they rushed to get it done and then stuffed it in a box, and instead of apologizing and offering a refund she HUNG UP ON ME! This is lengthy, I know, but 100% absolutely this was so unprofessional and it needs to be known so others do not have this experience. I am EMBARESSED to give this cake to my co-worker tomorrow.

The Price of the cookie doesn’t matter when you crave a cookie you’ve had since your childhood. The store in my hometown closed in the local mall. I hadn’t had the cookie in years and I had an immediate taste for GAC, ordered them through DoorDash and the recipe has not changed. Baking cookies does not compare to the taste that GAC gives.I felt like a kid again. #TeamDoubleDoozie

The cookies are absolutely delicious but price increase doesn't stimulate my taste buds. I'm a frequent customer and I don't think the price matches the quality or quantity of each cookie. Sorry

I love this place but today the young lady who was the cashier was not so customer service oriented. She didn't know how to answer any question and had a attitude when I ask to speak with the manager. Everytime I come in here they never have the cookie slices with chocolate and vanilla icing it's always ones with different colors. I'm allergic to food coloring that's why I just want the plain chocolate and vanilla when I asked the assistant manager he just said it's based on whoever bakes that day well I guess that's everyday. And not to mention today was my birthday and I just wanted a cookie slice guess I will have to continue to go to the outlets just to get it because they offer it all the time. It's a variety not just one color
