“Really nice guy, tasty hearty food.

I came after seeing a video on TikTok. Cute little place, some cute artwork on the walls. In a strip mall with a food lion. Not super visible, if I didn’t know what I was looking for, I might not have even noticed it.

I went at a weird time so there wasn’t anyone eating there. I didn’t know what I wanted and the guy talked through the different options and helped me pick. He is as friendly as he seemed in TikTok.

I ended up getting the griot, beef and cod Haitian pies and soursop lemonade. Don’t sleep on the Haitian pies. They are wonderfully flaky and they serve them piping hot. The griot is porky and rich with a nice crisp exterior and tender interior. They have 2 sauces with it, a savory one is thicker and flavorful, the spicy one is not too spicy and provides a nice acidic compliment to the richness of the dish. the soursop lemonade is perfectly sweet and fresh.

I’m not in this area too often but when I am, I’ll be back and want to try the oxtail next.“
