Curry Gate Of East is a hidden gem and one of the top favorite restaurants in Charlotte. Don't let the unassuming facade fool you. The food is absolutely delicious, consistently tasty, and everything is made from scratch. The aloo gobi is stewed with spices and tomato for an amazing layered, savory flavor, with cauliflower and potatoes cooked to a soft perfection. The palak paneer is incredibly comforting, like a hearty home-cooked meal, with a spicy jalapeno-tasting spice that enhances the dish and contrasts with the creamy sauce. The paneer is nice and firm and tasty.
Favorite dishes also include the dal makhni, paneer tikka, the CG Special Biryani, the Makhani, lamb biryani, and shrimp with rice. They also have by far the best naan. Everything is fresh, well-seasoned, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor, with great big portions. It is an authentic and satisfying place that never disappoints. Highly recommended.
