LAGZ RESTAURANT & BAR

The decor was beautiful. The host/waiter was very wonderful. The bar was not open. The restaurant was out of several things we tried to order. The food came out hot and quickly. The food was a decent price. There is a dinner buffet every 1st Sunday of the month. I liked that the wings were thoroughly cooked. We had leftovers to bring home. Everything reheated nicely. The ladies' room needs some work with the tissue & paper towel equipment.

This place may have received my business for the last time tonight. Despite the high praises I gave them for their jollof a year ago, the growing concern with cleanliness, the significantly smaller portions of everything BUT rice, and the failure to add spice no matter how much I ask has me looking for other west African dining spots. My husband walked in for my pick up order and was met by a huge roach. I weighed my salmon this time - 3 oz of salmon. This time there was no sauce… and they never add spice even though I request it. I got 1/4 cup of cabbage (no saving that for lunch). But rice?? More than half of my container was rice. $27 for rice and a side of salmon and cabbage is diabolical. I’ve been on this loop with them for is year now. No more

Please don’t eat here. They give you spoiled food and have the worst customer service! The management sucks and they will not give you a refund if you ask for one. Health violations all around the place!

Unfortunately we ordered from here last night and it was truly a bad experience. We hoped we were an outlier but reading the reviews, we are not. We were served rotten mac and cheese and the staff did not want to help! As a food worker, i understand dealing with unhappy customers but this was very upsetting to see. They did not want to speak to us about the issue and blamed me and my family for not liking the “taste” when it was clear the food was spoiled. Hopefully the team is able to fix these mistakes but for now, please do not come here! Instead if in the University area stop by Godfathers pizza for some pizza and a good atmosphere!

Ordered the spinach leaf soup but soon after eating it, I had the runs and it smells.

This place is a complete scam! They advertise buffet.. it is Buffett style but food is just thrown in buffet pans in a back room. Food packed flavor, unless you like salt! Jollof was not fluffy but more of a wet texture. None of my food was HOT. Dishes were dirty and for 73.00, I was offered water! When my husband and I asked for a refund they stated they didn’t do them, although it’s not posted! Don’t waste your time or money on this establishment. Find something better and worth the money.

This is the most unprofessional place I have been to and seen in my life!!! It is very obvious whoever owns this establishment doesn’t know how to run a business. They are very unprofessional, short staff, food seems old and doesn’t know how to keep schedule times of operation. My wife and I look up the time it open on line. Wednesday it said 11am. Thursday is said 1pm and when we got there, Thursday, waiting in the parking lot over a 40 mins, the they change the time on line to 3pm. We drove over a hour away for such horrible service. This place really need to get their priorities together. It’s hard to support a business that is unorganized in every level/ Spectrum.

not a great experience here. only positive was the server/bartender was nice, understanding and hospitable. aside from that, i did not enjoy my food or lemon drop. beef suya wasn’t hot when it came out. the meat seemed kind of old or the incorrect cut of meat, & the suya seasoning was nothing special. the puff puff was just okay. the jollof rice plate was also not hot when it came out. the bar only had 1 girl working at night. everyone had to wait there turn requesting her service in between her running food orders from the kitchen.
also the music could’ve been a bit louder. it was on whisper… i can’t recall one song i heard in there.

Everything was fantastic, Yemi was so very lovely, sweet and made the experience excellent! I’d come back for her ALONE, love it here 10/10 ⭐️

We happened to drop in because we were staying at the hotel near by. My husband loved the Joloff rice, flounder and shrimp basket and the ghost pepper hot sauce. I am not adventurous so I had the cheeseburger with the lagz sauce and enjoyed it. The music was great and the wait staff was very attentive to our needs. People have to understand that it is not a fast food restaurant. You have to wait for good food. My husband's food took longer to come out because the boss lady didn't like how the fish was battered at first and we were okay with that. Thank you for ensuring the quality of the food.
