Food is amazing. We've loved everything we've tried so far, but the cabbage and the mussels are our favorites. The sauces and balance of flavors and textures shine in every dish. This is our favorite food in Charlotte by far. The atmosphere is ok, but it's a small space, so it's a little cramped. We haven't brought my sister here yet because I'm not sure how accessible it would be for her power wheelchair.

The atmosphere was everything! A relaxed and chill vibe. The food was very delicious but very small portions. The experience was nice. The muscles were very good and I had the scallops which were good as well.

EXTREMELY poor experience tonight. Has always delivered an exceptional experience but, I suspect they are in decline to miss on so many things tonight. Our server made us feel rushed from the very start. Before our first course shareables arrived, I asked to double up our order of mussels, but the server said I needed to wait until the first order arrived. Really? Very odd. Was asked to place our entrée order 4 to 5 times in a 10 minute span while we were trying to enjoy our first courses and pace our entrées. If you don't want to offer the same level of experience and service that someone might get at 7 or 8 pm for a 945 pm rez, don't offer up the time slots. Service csme across as pushy and rude. Definitely not the impression and vibe I was excited to wow my out-of-town brother with. Shared $40 steak. Medium rare. Arrived sliced and EXTREMELY rare. Cold and blue. How can the chef slice a steak and not see that it is extremely rare? Would like to have enjoyed another beer with my dinner but was never asked. We would have also ordered dessert and maybe coffee if we didn't feel so unwanted where we were an annoyance for being a 945 pm reservation. Where was mgmt tonight? Especially with an item that needed a recook because it was executed so poorly. The broccolini that came back out 5 to 7 minutes later with the recook was the same from the original plate (only this time the sauce was congealed and a darker color from being under a heatlamp) and was wilted by this point. The recook steak was served a perfect medium rare, but it was not delivered by a manager. That would have given us a chance to alert them to poor service and poor execution and a big miss compared to previous visits and standards.
It was date night! Host was amazing! Enjoyed the food and our friends. Paul was our waiter. All was well until the end. We actually arrived to restaurant early bc we wanted to treat our friends. We explained that I would take care of entire food bill and husband would take care of all alcohol. Despite saying this multiple times, Paul charged my husbands card for the food . I also paid for it and then he had to void it. I paid twice and was not given proof of receipt of the mistake. I was very upset and did not receive an apology or anything. Great experience turned bad
My best friend and I were in town from Chicago and decided to try this place based on a referral from a salesperson and also the #1 listing in Charlotte's places to go book. The service was slow, food was not hot, portions were small and desert was not fulfilling ? Cute place but very small.

I hate that I have to write a bad review of this place but the experience I just had was absolutely AWFUL. I want to start by saying that we had been eyeing this place for months so when we were able to get in for my daughter’s 17th birthday, we were thrilled. We began with the cabbage, salad and chicken skins which were all simply DIVINE! ? We were excited because we knew we were in for a treat. We ordered the oxtails and grits. But when it got to us, it was such an incredibly small portion and there was barely any meat in the bowl. It also had a bunch of things in it such as black eyed peas which weren’t named on the menu. I NEVER EVER send food back but my daughter and I both sent it back. We then ordered the steak in its place. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse…we received cold, tough, grisel (sp.) filled steaks. These things weren’t even edible. They had no seasoning on them and not even the sauce on the side could save them. I didn’t want anyone thinking we were complaining because we wanted free food so we paid and we left the food there. Disappointed is an understatement. We won’t be back. We still tipped the waitress well though!Update: With all due respect, the waitress gave us attitude when we sent our first entree back so we didn’t feel comfortable expressing distaste or sending a second entree back. Again, I did not want anyone thinking I was trying to get anything for free. We paid for it, it was expensive and the entrees were absolutely awful.

My family and I went last night and had a great experience . The food was great. The oxtails and the shrimp were my favorite. But what made the experience the best was our waitress. I did not get her name but she gave amazing descriptions of the food, was very attentive and made our first time great. Excited to come back to the new location.

It’s in a nice spot, it’s a cute vibe , but the food is a no go. The menu was different than what we expected. We ordered the famous cabbage, chicken skins, oxtail dish and chicken sandwich. All of it wasn’t bad, but wasn’t good. My chicken came out raw in the middle. They offered to make another but I declined because I wasn’t pleased with the appetizers and after waiting for my food I just was over it at that point. I asked if I could have the apple cobbler. It came with cheeese sauce on top…CHEESE.SAUCE… on apple cobbler. Totally unnecessary. I probably would’ve did 1 star, but I gave it 2 because customer service was good. They were pleasant and really tried to correct the issues. I probably won’t recommend and won’t return. Sorry.
Everything here is delicious. The apps, drinks, entrees are all superb. Try the braised cabbage!

The food was soulful, eclectic and comforting; however, the service was highly disappointing! The food was slow to come out and our waitress could have cared less to be waiting on us. It was borderline uncomfortable. Whatever happened to service with a smile? Our experience didn’t come close.

Was sadly disappointed after reading great reviews. Food was served room temp and even gravy for catfish was actually COLD. Staff were friendly but they seemed woefully short on people. Took longer than reasonable to get drink and food orders plus delivery of food. Ambiance nice. Food overpriced for what you get. Hope they were just focused on move to new place and this was one-off bad experience.
The food at Leah & Louise was outstanding. Unfortunately, the service was poor. The night we were there, the restaurant was not busy at all. Yet, our water glasses were not refilled until we requested it. This is a basic function of any restaurant. Also, we split an entree, and did not get two plates to split it on. Same with dessert. Had to ask for plates each time. Pretty disappointing. I would not let the poor service keep me from going again, because the food was so wonderfully creative and delicious...
